Does this box have insulation in the top?

Asked by: kencal
Mine definitely has an insulated top. I have the black version, but I would not think there would be a difference.

does it fit a toyota turdra 2003

Asked by: salva
Yes it will fit in between the bed rails. I have an 05 tundra dc and they are the same bed size 01'-06'. HOWEVER- the grooves that are cut in the box for the mounting hardware are not far enough towards the center of the bed. You WILL have to drill a hole in the bed rails to make it work. There is only about an inch of play side to side. (I.e. the box is 60" and the Tundra bed width is 61". Other than that it fits nicely.

The lid just opens up when ever it wants. The passenger side handle is now stuck in the out position, I cannot get it to go back in and subsequently, cannot open the box at all. I'm on the west coast and Home Depot charged me three hundred and fifty bucks for it. I bought it thinking it if turned to garbage I could easily return it. Not that easy. Save your money and buy a better box. Look at other guys going down the road, the ones who have a Husky Box have gerry-rigged it in some fashion to keep it shut. My bad! I should have done a better job researching. Do NOT buy this Husky truck box! Junk.... My overall rating is actually a zero, but the page doesn't give that option.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy Bought this box about a year and a half ago so far in that time the lid has come wide open while driving down the road about a dozen times. The latches have been adjusted but they will not hold the lid down all the time. One lock does not work. Mounting hardware is horrible I now have chipped and flaking off paint bent bed rails all from this boxes poorly designed hardware. Warning do not buy!!!

Looks great with the low-profile style... My only issue is the box only has one tie down for each side... I like the J hook system but think there should be two on each side... I did do a good bit of shopping around with three goals in mind... Price, style and availability... The primary reason I purchased this unit on this day was the availability... It was in stock, in packaging and ready to go... Will be checking back in 6 months to give an update...

Very easy to secure to 2008 Silverado bed rails (no bedliner) with the included J-bolts. The only thing I did was use nuts with the Teflon inserts in place of ones included with the J-bolts. I bought some more anchors thinking I would like to use them in place of the J-bolts, but I may just leave it like it is as it seems to hold the box down fine. I think this is a great value for around 300 bucks.

The tool box is great but I had to fix the lock because someone broke the key off in the tumbler. I had to take the whole tumbler out and work to get the broken key end out. The box did not come wrapped and had a lot of dust on it. I suspect that this may have been a return because of the broken key. You can see were the out side edges of the box were it set on the truck had been scuffed up some. I do like the box otherwise.

Looks good in my truck and doesn't overpower the overall look of my truck The J Hooks that came with the box for installation are tiny and cheap. Would recommend investing in something better. The lid when closed, has to be held down to either lock or unlock the box. Key is weak and easily bent
