I did alot of research on the web as well as checking out local stores. This toolbox is definitely one of the best values out there. The latches seem far superior to most of the other boxes availble, especially in this price range. pull the latch and the lid pops right up, very cool. The low-profile doesn't block the view through the rear window. I added a little more cushioning between the truck rails and the toolbox than what was supplied. It looks nice even on my short 5.5' box, and the black color looks great on my new truck.

I spent several weeks looking at local places and researching online. This box stood out and decided to pull the trigger and get one. I'm VERY happy with the purchase.
I bought this in the store and installed it in about 4 minutes in the parking lot in my 2004 Ford SuperDuty F250 CrewCab with short bed. Fit great, although there was some room for it to be a bit wider. It mounts with two fairly thin j-bolts through very long slots. As you tighten the nut on the j-bolt, you can see the elongated holes quickly start bending inwards. I really don't trust them if I was in an accident or on a fairly rough road when I have many heavy items in it. I will be drilling 2-4 holes on each side and using bolts that will secure it to a much stronger C channel piece of steel that will run along the bottom lip of the bed side rails. As another reviewer mentioned, I will also end up putting more foam padding so that the entire lip resting on the bed rail will be padded.
PLENTY of room inside. It also has two side trays as well as two screwdriver holders that I wasn't expecting. As the attached photos show, you can fit quite a bit, with plenty of room to spare. I do plan on installing some basic organizers so I can keep a few liquids right side up and keep things grouped better without sliding around, and easier to get to rather than digging around through everything.
The low profile is great! Doesn't limit rear view at all. There is about 8 inches from the bottom of the box to the bed, so plenty of room for several sheets of plywood/drywall/etc to fit under it.
I love the single lid that is open-able from either side. The lid pops open by itself (via two high quality gas struts) when you pull the handle which is very nice when your hands are full. Its a bit tough to close, but its a good tight seal. I was worried I would have to close it by holding the lid closer to the center, but due to the excellent lock mechanisms that are connected to each other, and the double walled lid that doesn't twist, I can close it without issue from the very end on the corner.
I took the truck to the self service car wash and sprayed the heck out of it for several minutes from every angle I could, the only water that got in is when I sprayed upwards from under the overhangs that sit on the bed rail and water got in the elongated j-bolt holes. This wouldn't happen in any normal weather/conditions, but when I change to my own mounting bolts, I will be sealing up the j-bolt slots.
The handles are very solid, great material and craftsmanship. The lock mechanism inside is just as solid. The lock mechanisms are connected together by a large diameter rod that allows both handles to open the lid. It also ensures they are in sync when closing the lid. They even put a shield over the rod so that items in the box don't push against and hinder its movement. I really like this handle style on this over the 'flap' level kind. Both handles are oriented the same and is easy to see if they are locked or unlocked from either side or back of the truck. If the key slot is vertical, its locked, if horizontal, unlocked, and if your forget, the handles have an unlocked padlock symbol. You can lock/unlock the handles separately, VERY handy!
Overall quality is quite good. All weld joints are solid. Seals are great. Lock/handle mechanisms are great. Powder coating quality is great, LOVE the black, much better looking for my lined truck bed than silver/white. I dinged quality a notch for the weak j-bolt mounting system and there are some areas inside where the powder coating didn't quit get full coverage.

This is a very nice truck box. My favorite part is the hydraulic cylinders that lift the lid, just a pull of the latch and pop, it opens. The two latches can be locked separately and only one needs to be unlocked and pulled to open the lid. Two J bolts secure the box to the sides of the bed. I like that 8" clearance remains under the box, this is enough to still carry a load of plywood. The black color looks good on any truck.

Very nice tool box for the money. J-hooks are kind of lightweight but seem to do the job. Super easy to install. Less than 5 minutes and it was ready to go. Would have been nice to include a rubber liner so tools don't slide around when driving, but that's easil remedied.

After extensive research, looking for a sturdy truck box that wouldn't obstruct vision or detract from the truck's appearance, this is the obvious choice for the price. Strong and lightweight, installation and removal is quick and easy. Couldn't be happier with the quality, very happy with the purchase.

I have never really been a fan of truck tool boxes because they are usually bulky and take up a lot of space in the bed of your truck. I also hated that they stuck up so far in the rear window. Most I have seen were quite flimsy, and I didn't feel that my stuff was even secure.
then I got this toolbox. It seemed quite well built before I even got it out of the package. When I did, I could tell it was quality. It is a thick diamond plate and it is powder coated black as well. The Low profile design is really nice, because I still have about 8-10 inches of space below the tool box, and it only sticks up around 2 inches in my rear window.
Install took about 5 minutes. No holes to drill. Just a J hook and a nut and washer on each side. Secured down with no fuss, and it doesn't move with the two bolts tight.
I don't think I will have any issue with running out of space. I put the important things that have been under my back seat in there, such as receivers, bungee cords, and tie down straps and I still have a ton of room for more cargo.
The handles feel nice and heave duty as well. If one side is locked, the lid will still open by just unlocking one side. If both sides are locked, it will not open. The locking mechanisms are a little different than I have seen in the past. By locking the handle, it actually just disengages, so the handle still comes out, it just doesn't do anything.
The lock is a little flimsy, I caught the key on it the first time I used it and pulled the cover off. It didn't affect the function, and it snapped back on, but I was surprised it popped off in the first place.
So far, I love everything about this toolbox. It was delivered by freight on a pallet, and required a signature. It isn't very heavy though, so it didn't require a lift.

I got this box initially for a bit of extra dry storage on vacation. Out of the box, it appeared constructed well. The lid latches and seals great, powder coat is smooth and in good condition. Latches, locks, and lift cylinders operate smoothly. One definite plus, that I had not seen mentioned in either the details/specs or the reviews, is that the lid is insulated. On a sunny day, a black metal box would be expected to warm up, but with the insulated lid, it is just warmer than ambient temperature. The bar that crosses the latches inside the box does rattle against the box itself, but that can be easily solved with a bit of foam or something. It comes with 2 of each: J-hooks, washers, nuts, and a few strips of foam to put between the bed caps and the box. I wish the strips were a bit wider, to prevent scuffing of my bed caps. The whole thing is rather light, so it was a breeze for one person to install. After about 2 weeks, the locks became a bit tougher, they probably need a bit of lube. It has been down several dirt roads at speed.
Overall, I think this box is a great value, visually pleasing, and a nice amount of room. What I would change is the passenger side latch is the same as the driver's, it seems it would be better if it were reversed, as the design makes the passenger side a bit more difficult to pull than the driver's when reaching into the bed. It would be nice if it were a few inches deeper as well. Again, the foam strips could be twice as wide to better protect the bed caps and box.
