I searched for the perfect cabinet for months. I considered wood cabinets as well. I'm glad I pulled the trigger on these cabinets. I'll never exceed the weight limit on these. The finish is nice. Nothing was bent or scratched. I assembled these by myself with no problem. I did use an 18V impact, which helped. There's a lot of foam wrap in between the panels. I used it to lay out all my pieces, to prevent scratches. Just follow the directions and you'll end up with some nice, sturdy, squared and leveled shelves. Sorry for the sideways picture, tried to fix it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by OrganizedGarage Not designed to be used as a system
quality is average, but the design is awful. The bottom cabinets are 27" the upper, 28" so building a side by side system is near impossible. The work bench is 72" long, which prevents you from having a continuous system. 2 28" fit under that bench, but with an awkward space left over. The same thing will happen with the uppers. Also, instead of having the hinges set in a little bit, they are out on the edges of the cabinets. This means the doors need space to swing out, and cabinets cannot be placed side by side. I would recommend avoiding these if you are buying more than 1. I bought 7 pieces and regret it in a huge way.

Cabinet is fairly easy to put together, yet expensive for the price.
Nice features and sturdy shelves.
There are better out there.
You need a large area to put it together and several hours.
Good luck trying to find additional shelves, they just DO NOT make them.
Make sure the floor for construction is FLAT!
There have been a number of requests for additional shelves, but the manufacturer refuses to sell.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by GaryFord Product was as advertised, pricey but good quality. Feet would not screw in until holes were tapped out.
The only problem was the feet would not screw into the base. They would go in about 1/2 inch, then bind and stop. I had to tap the holes with my 3/8 in tap before they would go all the way in. Unless the base was tapped, the feet weren't going in... period. I don't know whether it was paint or a bad weld that was fouling the threads, but the tap did a fair amount of cutting to get the threads cleared through. All 4 feet had the same problem. After that, they worked fine.
Assembly was lengthy, 2+ hours and laborious, but not otherwise difficult. Follow to the instructions carefully, especially about leaving the bolts loose until you square the cabinet. .

I read the reviews that pointed to damaged/dented panels and I think that is probably more a reflection on the individual store than the manufacturer. Anyhow, mine was perfect. Assembly is straight forward though a little more difficult if you do it by yourself since it is hard to hold parts and reach all the fasteners. I used coat hanger braces to hold up the sides when I bolted them to the back, after that it was pretty easy. And yes, you do not want to tighten up everything until the instructions say to, every step in the assembly manual is careful to point that out so all you have to do is read and follow them! My only complaint is I would like to have had at least one more shelf. So I just made a couple out of wood (see photo). I used 16 x 1 in pine shelving and 1x1 square hardwood dowel (1 x 1 is the finished size!). Attach a strip of the 1x1 under the back edge of the shelf so it hangs out 1/2 in. That strip will then slide into the slot in the back of the cabinet for support. Same slot that the metal shelves go into. Then I used a 1 inch long piece of the 1x1 attached to the metal cabinet at each side to support the front of the shelf. Simple and no mods to the cabinet.

This is a nice cabinet , but directly from the manufacturer many individual parts arrived damaged. They did send a number of replacements including the main door quickly, but it is very frustration to stop the build midstream. Probably would not buy it again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by HuckleCat Typical Chinese product: You get what you pay for
I put this together several weeks ago for my garage remodel. I bought it as a locking cabinet to store power tools to delay thieves at least a little. It is not heavy-enough gauge steel to stop them for long, but it will keep them from walking into your garage and taking stuff while the door is up.
My biggest disappointment was that there was more damage than I hoped would be there. It was almost surely not a return because everything was packed so well, so the moderately deep scratches and dings, some visible on the front, were probably put there at the factory. My prior experience with this cheap of product tells me that a return would just produce another box with similar defects, and I wanted to get the garage model done, so I declined to take it back even though my Home Depot is pretty close.
That said, it's only a few scratches and dings, and it looks nice in my garage. It serves its purpose and I haven't had the problem with bowing shelves that other reviewers have mentioned. Power tools can be moderately heavy and I haven't stored full paint cans there, but so far the shelves have been holding up well.
I'd recommend this as long as you aren't expecting too much. It's a great price and it was out of the question for me to spend several grand for top-of-the-line cabinets, so this was a decent compromise. If you are super picky about products being "virgin" out of the box like I am, then be prepared to take it back at least once. Or you can just be happy with the good price and be done with it.
