Customer Questions & Answers

Can you get replacement parts?

I need to get the horizontal shelving pieces( Cross brace, wire grid and horizontal braces that connect to the uprights). I connected all my shelves together and have uprights left over.
Asked by: Texaschevys06
The shelf unit instructions are arranged with safety in mind. If you have parts left over, you assembled it incorrectly, especially with the uprights.

Can this item be disassembled for travel?

Asked by: LGLL
It is easy to assemble and disassemble for moving purposes but wouldn't recommend to frequently disassemble. Plus, the pieces are solid welded and don't collapse so it would depend on how you would transport them.

77 in. W x 78 in. H x 24 in. D Steel Garage Shelving Unit is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 758.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from From a garage mess to a functioning workspace These shelves changed my life... well, at least my life in my garage. I ordered two shelving units to help organize my out-of-control garage. I knew they would be very heavy, so I ordered online and had them shipped to my home instead of buying them in the nearby store. The delivery crew unloaded and carted them into the garage for me, beyond my expectations. Assembly was easy (did it solo) and these shelves are so sturdy that I plied all my heavy tools on them without any concern. I even went back to the store and bought a number of hooks to install along the top shelf to hold my rakes, shovels, etc. Now my garage is ORGANIZED. I can find things again and actually function in this workspace. Well worth the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Storage Shelves We bought these to use in a storage unit and then later in our garage / house. Assembly of the first one took us probably 40 minutes to an hour. The second two took us less than half that time each. They are very sturdy and support a good amount of weight. They are heavy when assembled. I would strongly suggest having them nearly in position once the rails for the top and bottom shelves are in. Assembly wise we used a large flat head screwdriver, a rubber mallet, and a 7/16 box wrench. Granted, I am not sure how well disassembly, moving, and reassembly will go, but so far we are extremely satisfied with the product. More review on Mooncaller Home Projects.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality!!! Bought two units and both were cracked where they welded the metal frames together. I will post pictures if they let me. Waste of my time, don't buy these and waste your time. Returned and will look else where for better quality shelving units.

This product is a step above the shelving units they have on display on my store. This is really sturdy, very commercial, and really nice looking on top of it. It comes in one large and heavy box. One person can manage it, but two would be ideal. My only complaint is the packaging, the metal all comes on top of each other resulting in a lot of scratches on the metal. I contacted the company and they sent some replacements for the really scratched pieces. I ordered online and picked up in my store. The set up is fairly easy and can be tool-less, the only time a tool comes into play is if you install the cross bars on the shelf which I would do even if you don't max out the weight. I did a lot of research on the size of the shelf as I wanted to use 1 series of containers. I went with the HDX 17 gallon black and yellow containers. They are not as nice as the husky ones, but they are much cheaper and at the end of the day they are storage bins. I measured and wanted to do 4 shelves with 4 containers with a total of 16 containers. I also needed to make sure this fit right below my garage railing along the inside wall. I added the 5th shelf to be able to put miscellaneous items up top. Overall I highly recommend the unit. My one complaint is still the packaging, a little foam in between the metal would be ideal.

Pros - Once assembled, the unit is stable and certainly will make a major difference in how my garage looks. Also appreciate the shelf depth. Nice to be able to configure the shelf height to meet my needs. Cons - As noted in other reviews, the shipping box and nearly non existent interior packing material (a few thin sheets of paper) is really unfortunate and poorly conceived. While this unit is made of heavy gauge steel, it will still bend if other boxes are stacked on top and if mishandled via transport. I highly recommend before buying and transporting the box home that you open and inspect the contents in the store. I learned this the hard way. Loaded box in my minivan, got home and unpacked the parts of my unit to discover 40% of the pieces were badly bent to the point assembly was not possible. I took the box and contents back to my local HD and they quickly replaced. I know the included instructions say not to but I had taken time from work to complete this project so I wasn't going to wait days for a new shelving unit to arrive. Sorry Husky! Also regarding assembly, not sure where they came up with the assembly in 10 minutes ... no way! Not hard to assemble but 1. the included instructions are not very detailed so you will need to rely on the color pictures on the box and just think about what you are doing. And 2. the info page on the HD website infers this is a simple "click and lock" assembly so you can change the shelving high whenever you would like. Nope you really need to use a hammer or mallet to get the railings to fit properly (this is noted in the instructions). So net, I've only had this unit for 24 hours and I am still in the process of organizing my garage as the attached picture indicates!! I'd say I'm happy to have a sturdy shelving unit in place but not sure I would buy this Husky product again. I would likely spend a bit more and buy the comparable Gladiator brand shelving unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shelves, not great They aren't bad shelves. Overall, they are sturdy and go together fairly easily. However, it is not a tool-less assembly like competitors shelving. The finish on these is cheap and not durable at all - in fact, you scratch the cheap paint terribly just by assembling the shelves. It is a light coating of black spray paint. Instead of the center supports snapping in, you have to screw two tiny screws in to hold them in place. The additional few inches of height is nice, but for the money I would go with the gladiator shelving. I have two of each, and the fit, ease of assembly, durability of finish and better look of the gladiator shelving is well worth it.

They are really strong ,easy to assemble (can be done by 1 person) and the warranty is excellent. The wire mesh ( the shelves ) are not good for "very" heavy equipment ,so, we added some plywood to be able to push and pull our machines . After assembling no matter how you do it , they do not get 100% square but it is just 5mm to 6mm (1/4 in.),we are OK with that. The paint is very durable . Use a rubber mallet and put them nice together and the shelves(unit) will not move . We think 4 stars would be fair for this item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of garbage Sad to say that I purchased this shelving unit and 10 minutes later when I got it home and opened up, it was complete garbage. For starters, such a heavy item was in such a thin flimsy box that tore easy and offered no protection to the light aluminum framing. Once we got it opened and removed from the box, we noticed that one of the two sides was damaged. Whoever stocked/shipped this item damaged in at some point and didn't feel inclined enough to replace it or send it back before someone, like me, bought it. It's mighty convenient that the "do not return to store if damaged" slip of paper was laying underneath the bent portion of the shelf. If I could give it negative stars it would be -100. I don't have the time or money to be buying broken things.
