Answer:
I purchased this unit and bolted to my cement garage walls. If you put casters on the bottom and fill up the shelves, (if you have children) the unilateral will fall on top of someone and crush them. This is a hard-core heavy-duty unit.

Answer:
I have the 24" deep and 18" deep. I wouldn't bother on the 24" due to stability via twisting. But I have attached some to the 18". One side is on heavy casters and the other is set on top of a heavy duty tool cart, and the only weight is my work bench. That works great but there isn't a lot of weight and I don't move it around a lot.

I would not recommend it. There is a hole in the center of each leg that could technically be used for casters but it the caster would have to have about a 3" wide top in order to support the full rail, and worse I don't think the shelf would hold up to pushing/pulling with any kind of a load. the product claims 2000 lbs per shelf, but I would not trust that. I have several hundred lbs per shelf and have had it for about two years. If you put a heavy load, you must use wood planks on each shelf to spread the weight to the front/rear rails. If you don't it will bend the wireframe shelves.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by From a garage mess to a functioning workspace These shelves changed my life... well, at least my life in my garage. I ordered two shelving units to help organize my out-of-control garage. I knew they would be very heavy, so I ordered online and had them shipped to my home instead of buying them in the nearby store. The delivery crew unloaded and carted them into the garage for me, beyond my expectations. Assembly was easy (did it solo) and these shelves are so sturdy that I plied all my heavy tools on them without any concern. I even went back to the store and bought a number of hooks to install along the top shelf to hold my rakes, shovels, etc. Now my garage is ORGANIZED. I can find things again and actually function in this workspace. Well worth the cost. August 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy duty but easy to assemble storage racks These steel shelving units arrived on time in good condition. They are well packaged and not too heavy for one person to move the box one end at a time. Assembly is made easy by the tab-to-slot design. A whack with a rubber mallet (or hammer and wood block) sets each shelf into a sturdy position. The side supports are double sided (will sopport shelves on either side) so with the purchase of two 4-shelf units I was able to construct a triple wide 3-2-3 shelf storage rack seen in the picture. August 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy duty shelves that are fairly easy to assemble Our gym teacher needed new shelves for all her equipment. We selected these shelves since they are very heavy duty, anodized and have stainless steel shelves. They were fairly easy to assemble and stack nicely next to each other. The shelf heights are adjustable. If you have a heavy duty shelving requirement, these are great. Definitely recommend. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by shelving unit The unit was very easy to self install. Added a lot more space to out garage. Well worth the money. Only used 3 shelves. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Car Restoration Storage We got this to store bins and new/old parts for my 3 year car restoration project. My wife and I got it loaded up ourselves into my Outback, since no one from the store offered to assist. It fit with the front passenger seat moved forward and with just one of the back seats folded forward. We just cut the box open in the back of the car when we got home to avoid lifting it again. Assembly was super easy with a rubber mallet, screwdriver and a small ratchet. It took us about 45 minutes including some time to figure out spacing for my existing bins and specific car parts. Highly recommend buying this - well worth the value. Feel like I will own this for the rest of my life. September 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great so far. I purchased these as shelving for a record collection. I had to modify the shelves to suit that purpose, by adding a plywood layer for a solid flat surface. I also added plywood to one end to form a "wall". So far all I can say is that they seem very sturdy. Haven't had a chance to load them up yet. The only downside is that you can't buy extra shelf sections. Home Depot has them available on the website, but when you order them, the shelves that show up are too short. Luckily I didn't end up needing them. May 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks are deceiving I purchased three of these shelving units because they looked as if they were industrial which is what I am used to. While putting them together it was easy to realize this was not the case. The gauge of metal is much thinner and can easily be bent. In fact, some of the upright pieces were bent. In addition to the above mentioned items, the paint on these units easily chips off. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Quality Really happy with the look and quality of this shelving unit. Perfect Size for what we needed. August 30, 2016
