This is an absolutely top notch product - very sturdy, does not twist or tip and the price (under $160) is unbeatable. Try finding something similar under this price.
Assembly did require a mallet to get the shelves properly in place, but all in all it took me 20 minutes to put together.
Beware: I just bought an add-on from the manufacturer and was taken aback by a difference in measurement: the depth of this unit is 24 inch (outer) while the ERP602472A is just bought is 24 inch (shelf depth) but 26 inch outer. I couldn't believe it! I had to cut the particle board to a funky shape to make it fit . . .

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Springboard Heavy duty but vertical supports too narrow
I shopped around and this shelf is the heaviest duty. Each shelf can support 2000 pounds! The closest competitor only supports 800 pounds. But there is a problem. The spacing between the two vertical supports is too narrow at the bottom. Mine was too narrow by a quarter inch. The one on display was 24 1/4" at the top but 23 7/8" at the bottom. They need to be at least 24" in order for the wire shelves to fit. One employee helped me go through 3 boxes in the stare and they were all similar, always too narrow near the end bottom. The wire shelving won't fit properly if the vertical beams are too narrow.
But being the best product out there I still bought it. In order to make the wire shelves still fit, I used a hacksaw to shave off the corner tips of the wire shelves but leaving all the welds intact. The wire shelves fit perfectly into the horizontal beams after that. When assembling test to make sure all the wire shelves fit before hammering everything tight.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Doug1953 Great Consumer Racking
After reading some of the negative comments I wondered if I should buy this even though it sounded like it was sturdy. I figured I could deal with any assembly issues since I have plenty of tools. Got the guy at Home Depot to give me a hand loading the box into my Toyota Matris. If the box had been 1 inch longer the back door would not have closed. Was able to get it out myself and kind of walked the box over to the garage area but a 2nd person would have been easier. Anyway I was surprised how short the instructions were but they said what was needed and were easily understood. Everything went together fine and I had no issues. I would say just make sure you have a good rubber mallet. Fit was tight for the wire mesh shelving and a couple needed a couple of hits from the mallet but in the end everything went together as it should and is way better then any consumer shelving I have ever had. I would highly recommend this to anyone - you can do it yourself but is helpful if you have a 2nd person. Should be excellent storage for the Rubbermade type storage boxes. In closing - I did not seem to run into the assembly issues that some others did. Maybe I got lucky or maybe they got the feedback here and fixed their issues....?

Where do I start? I bought 4 of these racks, opened the boxes and laid out all the parts for assembly. The end frames that holds the horizontal brackets are not evenly welded on ALL four racks. There's a difference of 1/4 inch in depth between the top and bottom making it impossible to insert the bottom wire deck/shelf into the groove on the horizontal brackets. The end frames is tapered at the bottom. The wire deck/shelf does not sit flat on the horizontal brackets but at an angle. There's a paper insert in the box that recommend calling Edsal for help instead of returning it to the store. I called Edsal and after a long conversation with the rep I was told that there was nothing they can do for me and suggested that I go back to the store and make an exchange. These racks weight 150Lbs. each and it would be a major inconvenience to repackage them and take it back to the store. In the end, I had to cut the welds from the bottom end frame bracket, expand the vertical brackets by 1/4 inch and weld it back together. I did not sign up for this.
I would never buy from Edsal again and I strongly recommend that you stay away and avoid the grief.

Bought one as a test to see how it would work in my shop, assembly was very easy and self explanatory for me. I didn't look at the directions so I can't comment on how good/bad they are. I added a few features to my shelf before I assembled it:
Added casters to allow me to move it from one side of the room to the other (the shelf is plenty sturdy to handle this. I haven't put much of a load on the shelf to see how it will move but for what I plan to use it for it should work fine.
By putting the bottom shelves closer together I was able to create a "work bench area" that I hung peg board around.
The only other thing I plan to do with the shelf is replace the grate style shelf with a piece of plywood for the work area I created.
I plan to purchase 1 or 2 more of these depending on how my organization goes for the shop.

Organizing toys and yard equipment is tough, especially while trying to maintain parking spaces for the cars. This shelf is wide enough for my son's power wheel to slide underneath. conserving valuable real-estate in the garage. Very easy to assemble, my 11 y/o did most of the work. very sturdy and stable.
