Answer:
Technically it's two phase. But we call it single phase.
Two Hots, one ground. Hot 1 is black, Hot 2 is red, ground is green. you should be able to use a 10-2 wire. That's rated to 30amps.

Hey ja,
If you don't know how to wire your compressor you better hire an electrician.
There is more to it than just plugging it in.
Thanks For Asking

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 43 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor design leads to constant failure I purchased this compressor as an upgrade/replacement for an old 6 HP Craftsman I'd purchased back in 1990. When it runs, it produces plenty of pressure and volume but it is highly unpredictable and therefore unreliable. I purchased mine in November of 2016 and it failed for the fourth time yesterday. This failure occurs despite performance of regular maintenance and cylinder head re-torques as specified in the owners manual. The problem as I see it, stems from the use of aluminum valve plates with very poor quality head gaskets that fail between the intake and exhaust ports of the head (see photo). When this happens, the broken piece of gasket damages the reed valve and the compressor fails. If the manufacturer upgraded and used a metal or fiber reinforced gasket, it would likely eliminate the problem and make this a good durable machine. I've read countless reviews on this compressor and it makes me question whether anyone at Husky or HD actually cares about the failures or quality as long as they can sell them. Other not so brilliant things about this unit? Well, the manual also says that you should take your compressor (300+ Lbs) to a service center annually to have a technician check the pump intake and exhaust valves. As a matter of practicality - this is simply stupid! These are called stationary because they are intended to be installed and used. They are not intended to be portable for an annual trip to the repair shop. My compressor is used in my home workshop and most likely has less than 100 hours total run time on it. Bottom-Line: There is no acceptable reason for failures from such an obvious cause not to be corrected by the manufacturer. Home Depot's reputation will suffer in the long run as customer trust in their products falls. Unless some changes are made, these compressors will only be valued for their weight as scrap. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay away from Husky Bought new...use for 2 month already having trouble with it..broken gasket...safety switch broken. Don't believe in Husky factory warranty..they won't fix it for you... Want a air compressor, any brand but not Husky October 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY THIS COMPRESSOR Bought this compressor thru HD in 06/2016 ran good for 4 months till today when one of the heads starts to blow out air thru the filter instead of making. Call HD, they don't care, already past the 90 day policy, they told me to call HUSKY, so I did, a lady transfer my call to the Technician dep., the guy explain what was the problem and ask me if he ships the part, if I could fix myself, I said no, it is under the manufactory warranty, you guys should be responsible for it. Well, we are a small cabinet shop and most our equipment runs out of air, so I explain to this person that my shop is on halt right now without the compressor, he says, I can overnight the part under your UPS account and you pay for it, I said no, it is Husky responsibility, he says they will ship the part thru regular carrier and I have to look to a local mobile person that can come to my shop and fix the compressor. my compressor is only 4 months old, looks like I will be buying another compressor tomorrow so I can continuum to work until this thing gets fix. Lesson learned!!!! October 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good compressor have had it for two weeks and it seems to very good so far. the down side no electric cord with product and you do not sell what it calls for. October 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best buy I ever made Bad only had the compressor a few months head is shot on it already sent paper in they wanted twice they say they never got them right. Not happy that nothing is being done to fix this getting your money but selling. Junk won't shop there again October 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great delivery service We purchased at 10pm and the delivery was made the next morning early am. It was great to keep us up and running. Compressor works great August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 80 gl Compressor This compressor came highly recommended by a California sand blaster. As I am a glass artist, I use this to power my sandblasted for carving glass. It is expected to be a studio workhorse. If possible set it outside of your immediate work area for the noise factor ... It was just installed by a profession plumber - recommended. I took the opportunity to add a few taps for other air tools. December 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk! Tried three of these units in a 90 day period and they are junk! The first one lasted almost a month, the second one 3 weeks, and the third one lasted a week! Seems they have some kind of a valve problem and the center cylinder pushes all the air back out the air cleaner. Fortunately I am still in the 90 day store warranty and they will take it back and issue a refund. Heading back there tomorrow. May 18, 2016
