Customer Questions & Answers

how many AMPS does the motor draw/or what is the current consumpion of the motor

Asked by: Anonymous
I did not measure the actual amp draw but the specs say 22 amps. I wired the compressor with 8 gauge wire and a 30 amp breaker. Works great.

What is the wattage needed to run this compressor effectively at 240 volts single phase.

I need to know the start up wattage for this compressor. So that I know if my generator would be able to power this compressor during start up. I know that it is a 240 volt motor and it draws 22 amps which would be 5280 watts but is that under load of starting with air in tank?
Asked by: Anonymous
Not really sure why you want to run a stationary compressor from a portable generator but what I would do is call the manufacture of the generator that way you get it directly from the horses mouth so to say..

We need to transport our 80 gal husky compressor to a new location. Can the compressor be moved in a horizontal position (e.g. Laying down as opposed standing upright)?
Asked by: Jasper
Hello Jasper, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question. Normally units like this are shipped in a vertical position on a pallet. To tip the compressor on its side for transport, I would make sure to drain the pump oil completely first. Without oil, there is no reason that being on its side will cause damage if you don't let it roll around. I hope this helps, Chris. .

Where do I get replacement parts for my husky pro air compressor model no: HS781004AJ, serial no: L 4/19/10-00054

I'm leaking air from the outlet pressure valve adjuster knob. The pressure cutoff switch isn't working because it runs until it gets to around 220 psi and the popoff valve opens to relieve the pressure. I need to replace the black 3/8 line from the outlet pressure knob to the back of the popoff valve Pump no: HS050000AV Serial no: FH01100512

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have to say a bit sceptical I was when i decided to buy this compressor ,but after the purchase i am glad i spent the money .This thing is a beast,it supplies enough air to run my da sander for hours at a time with breaks enough to change paper without a problem.I love it and I will recommend my friends get one.I seriously dont think it can run out of air.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from i,m happy this product save you time and money and it has the power you need for most home garage uses.i can run my inpact wrench with constant 90 psi and it doesn't lose power, even when holding the trigger continuously for several minutes.i even use this compressor for my larger sand blaster and it holds up just fine, and that uses a lot of air.this compressor is very quiet from the one i had before and it's very easy to hook up and maintain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great workhorse for the garage Run this unit out of my garage and has done well in running multiple pneumatic tools that I use...a little loud for my liking but that's the nature of the beast when dealing with compressors. Overall a good product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spend Your Money On Something Else Junk plain and simple. Had to repair it the day it was delivered. A small hose was cheaply connected, but was easy to repair. Two months later the input line into the tank cracked and blew off. It was made of cheap aluminum. The next thing to go was the electric motor. This was after 6 months of light use and the correct amount of voltage to the unit. When I contacted HD to get warranty info they just sent me to Campbell Hausfeld. CH was nearly impossible to reach on the phone. I finally talked to a guy in my area(which I found on my own) that was a warranty center for CH and he said it could be up to a month before anything was repaired. Bottom line is save your money and buy an Ignersol Rand and be done.I ended up just buying another brand motor made in Ohio for $350.00. I could have bought a IR and not have had to work on anything. You may get a warranty but it is meant to be a pain so they don't have to warranty it. Cheaper is not always cheaper.
