Customer Questions & Answers

hello we are looking for a cooler to give our employees at work, does it come in green?
Asked by: kerry
I think Henry Ford said it about the original model T automobile. Customers can buy the car in any color they want, so long as it's black. Pretty sure red is the only color. Husky is the house brand for home depot. The Husky colors are red and black. A lot of gift swag is of low quality. This is a quality product, it would be a good gift for your employees if you can get past the color issue.

can it come with more than "1" ice pack? how is "1" ice pack enough to keep various foods and drinks cold for hours?

in the summer on an outdoor construction site, I believe at least 2 ice packs would be nessessary.

You will want to pick up some more. "HD carries Blue Ice Weekender Ice Pack" for three bucks. Also readily available at most grocery stores, or anywhere ice chest / coolers are sold (sporting goods, or at big box stores like WallyWorld, Target, etc.)

Customer Reviews

9 in. Lunch Cooler is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 85.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty Lunch Box This review is for the Husky 9" lunch cooler. I purchased one of these to replace a worn out "no name" lunch bag. The Husky is built in the same tradition as their tool bags and tool totes - heavy duty zippers, padded handle, detachable shoulder strap with swivels. There are two webbed pockets (one on each end) that can old soda cans or water bottles or, in my case, a small thermos (see photo). The backside offers a small "utensil" pocket (zippered) that can hold plastic ware, napkins, etc. The front pocket is insulated and so offers a separate storage area from the main storage area allowing you to keep things of different temperatures (a cold lunch in the main area, a warm cookie or some such in the front pocket. The main storage areay is quite spacious; I have a wide mouth thermos that can hold an entire can of chunky soup and it fits easly in the pocket with room for sandwiches and crackers to spare. The market price of the Husky is slightly under the generic lunch bags that I see in our local big name grocery store. The fit and finish are terrific - no sticky zippers, no loose threads, etc. and the unit comes with a 3 year limited warranty from Husky. The only thing my wife found off-putting was the "Husky" name and logo which she felt does not lend the unit for use in an office setting. I figure the folks in the office will just have to get used to it. : - ) HTH Regards, Jim

I purchased this in 2015 (reluctantly, I felt the price was on the high side). I am hard on things; clothes, shoes, tools, girlfriends, etc. They all wear out and need to be replaced. This has held up very well. I favor the low-cal Gatorade. This will hold about 4 bottles, and one 16 ounce can of energy drink, an ice pack, and a few bars. I tend to work through lunch, but that is almost always enough to get me through one day. The previous lunch bag was a Columbia brand purchased from REI. This one is way better. I keep my blue booties in one mesh pouch, and my reading glasses [hard shell case] in the other.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works very well Works great if you only need to place 1 nice size lunch. I need to carry along multiple meals. So for me it's a little small but I make do, till I could find something that works. Insulation is not the thickest I found the real tree cooler to have a thicker insulation & holds frozen water bottles longer. The cooler holds ice well with no leaks just keep an eye out for small tears that can happen when putting in Tupperware. The outer shell is tuff which is great.

He really likes it but wishes it was a bit smaller. The shoulder strap and warm food compartment are great, side pockets are large enough for a water bottle and misc items. The insulation is great my son likes that there is a zip up pocket on the back where he can store misc items. Bag keeps food cold but doesn't freeze in the current temps we have had in our area.
