Answer:
You sure can! This knife takes a standard blade size. You can get them anywhere, in packs of 5 or 100.

My folding utility knife is sticking when it opens, and doesn't always lock in the open position. Stiff to unlock as well.

How to put in a new blade

This question is from Folding Lock Back Utility Knife

I can't get a new blade to go into the Husky folding lock back utility knife. The sign on the knife says to press in on the button on the blade holder part of the knife near the handle. I do that and still can't get a blade to slide into the slot. It feels like there is something blocking the slot near the middle of the entry point to the slot. There is no way any blade will go into that slot as long as this blockage is there.

Am I doing something wrong or is the knife broken?

Thank you .

First of all it appears there are a few different varieties of the Husky folding knife. For one of them you press down on the button to remove the blade, for another, you push the button up. It sounds like you have one that requires pushing the button in. If it seems like there is something preventing the blade from going into the slot, it could be that the button is not engaging the blade retention mechanism. In other words the button is not pushing the internal part that holds the blade into the knife when the button is released. If you have verified that there is nothing stuck in the slot, then I suspect the knife is defective. I suggest you take the knife to Home depot and speak with one of the associates. They should be able to check the tool and if defective, will most likely replace it for you. Read Less

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by So frustrating!!!! I seem to be having the opposite problem as many of the other reviewers here have. Many mention that they can't keep the blade in, but I can't get mine out! They changed the release mechanism on these because I think the other one had rust issues, but the blades just wont release! every once in a while I may get lucky removing one with a set of grips, but that's not very safe at all. I have never had a razor knife give me this much trouble. These knives are more disposable than the replacement blades. Go with something better. June 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You can never have too many I love this knife. I've had several of them over the years. I don't wear them out, they get borrowed. Nobody takes them. Nobody puts them down somewhere and forgets where they are. It is always Somebody's fault but Nobody is blameless. I was very excited when I saw them in a 3 pack. Would that it was 12! They are the greatest tool for their simplicity and elegance of design. I love they can fold so they fit safely in a pocket till needed. I love how easy it is to change the blades and most of all I love how versatile they are. There are so many ways I end up using them that I can't list them all. A true Jack of all Trades. Get one. You won't be sorry. May 30, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not for real work I'm on my forth one and I'm done. After a couple weeks of use the blades have jammed and will no longer release to be changed. This happened on everyone one and from 3 different stores. Waste of money. Maybe works for weekend warrior type jobs, but not a real job site. More Chinese junk. August 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Quality Knife. These knives, work well. I like them better than the retractible blade type because the retractibles seem to retract when I don't want them to. The only real issue I've had with them is that I keep loosing them. February 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cheap knife at cheap price It's a knife , it cuts like it should . Typical China quality , but I lose them before they wear out.Wish there was more color selection , but a black knife will go with about anything . Wanted red but was only offered in a single pack at a higher price.Figured if I cut myself, would not show as much! December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A good value! Opening and closing of these knives is not as smooth as some I've had previously but they seem to be a sturdy heavy duty knife. The opening and closing issue is just an observation. It doesn't really affect your usage.(if that makes sense) December 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Knife These knives are durable. Changing the blades is simple. The body of the knives are solidly built to last. Each knife folds into itself, protecting you from the blade while not in use, and each knife has a clip for attaching to a pocket for easy carrying. December 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Used every day. Small & compact and lighter than many others on the market. Yet strong enough to hold up to daily use... & abuse! January 8, 2015
