Customer Questions & Answers

Are these Security Ends?

AKA - do these have the hole in the center of the bit? Thank you!
Asked by: Nick
Yes, these have the hole in the center of the bit. Recommend not removing any tags until you can dry fit a bit to a screw, as my experience is that not all tamper resistant screw heads are made quite to the same specifications.

Is there a version of this product with smaller bits (T3-T8)?

Asked by: Tamperor
Tamperor, we do offer a mini version of the Torx fold up Model # HMFHKT8PCN Internet #204153266 Store SKU #1000009931, that covers T6, T7, T8, T9, T10, T15, T20, T25. We do not offer any options for a T3 driver. This is a very small size that is not very common, you may want to check with a electronics distributor for a specialty item such as this.

Does it have a T25 5 point torx?

Asked by: Nurse12
Nurse12, This fold up does include a T25 key, it includes keys in these sizes:T9, T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30, T40. Trox keys have a 6 point design to match the six point design on a torx fastener. I am confused as to the 5 point Torx portion of your question, since torx fasteners and keys have a 6 point design. if you have a 5 pointed fastener then it is not a torx fastener.

Customer Reviews

Folding Tamperproof Torx Set (8-Piece) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reasonable tool. This is a decent item. The heads fit tamperproof screws and the metal is strong. However, the keys on one end (the three largest ones) aren't held in place by any tension or anything and as such just flop open and closed. There's a screw on that side that I'd assume can be tightened to lock them in place a little better but in my opinion this shouldn't have to be done. Long story short if you only think you'll need this once in a while (my case) this is a great tool. If you're regularly screwing and unscrewing tamperproof torx heads then I'd get something a little more robust.

Used it to open the oven so I could re-seat and tighten down the door switch assembly that had been jarred loose after a few years of use. I probably *could* have saved myself more money if I could have found an individual screwdriver bit of the right size, but I wasn't sure of the size I needed, so I chose this tool instead, figuring one of the bits was bound to work (and I could return it if none did.) My only complaint is that the bits didn't "lock" into place when extended.

Was not familiar with the screws that held it together. I guessed that they were either Star or Torx. Talked to a tool rep who happened to be in the store and he explained the difference. A torx tool has a hollow center that fits over a point inside of the screw you are working on. They fit perfectly!

However, I was unable to use this tool with a specific part on my VW Jetta that had tamper resistant torx screws, and I had to use pliers to slowly grip and turn the screw heads instead. I will keep my Torx set in case there are other situations that might need it in the future.

I wasn't thrilled that when using one particular size torx, the other torx could fall out as well. I'd rather the set was *tighter* so that other torx don't expand out during use. But for a basic security torx set it is ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy TORX set. Buy 1 have both I was looking for the star torx set bu this one is the secure one with the hole in the center to accept the security pin. One set handles both security and non security and it was CHEAPER

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inexpensive torx set This is an inexpensive set of torx keys in compact handle. The 3 larger size keys are not snug around the pivot, so they flop around as you are trying to use them.
