Product Overview

Husky spray guns feature stainless steel needles and precision air caps for reliability and perfect paint atomization. All Husky Spray Guns have the controls located at the rear of the gun to allow comfortable use by left and right hand operators. This Husky spray gun kit features both a conventional and HVLP spray gun both with 600 cc paint cups. Husky HVLP (high volume-low pressure) technology provides high material transfer efficiency, eliminates paint waste and requires lower air volume. Both spray guns in this kit are ideal for high volume paint application for car refurbishing, industrial, wall painting and woodwork. These guns are not suitable for use with Latex Paint. The guns are easy to clean and come complete with a cleaning brush set and multi wrench. The kit also includes in-line regulators, extra paint cups and paint filters.

What kind of paint can I use with this kit?

The description says that these guns are not suitable for latex paints. I am trying to paint interior walls inexpensively - what kind of paint can I use?
Asked by: mrshlrn
Oil based. You have to get another nozzle to use latex (see Oct. 2015 postings)

Can this be used for exterior house painting?

If so what sprayer in the kit would work? Or should I just go with an airless sprayer? I'd hate to have to buy one for interior walls and cabinets and one for exterior.
Asked by: Riley
NO ! You need an airless setup for heavy latex paints.

Gun/Air Compressor HELP!

Does anyone know if I could run these guns with just a simple 6-gallon pancake style compressor (150 Max PSI)? If not, would the Huskey 33 Gal that they sell at HD do the trick? I'd buy the 33gal $299 Huskey if it would allow me to use the guns for my laquer and automotive paint and top coats. Problem is, I keep seeing people write about how you really need a gas powered 2-5HP compressor to really used these types of guns effectively. Any truth to that? I know it's really just more of a CFM and tank size question, but I want to paint my car with professional grade results. I also want my laquer to be fully atomized so that the finish comes out awesome! Can anyone chime in with some wisdom one way or the other?
Asked by: mikejonce
No. You will burn up the compressor. Need 20 gal. or above.

Can I use these guns on a Harbor Freight 2.5hp 21 gal. compressor to paint a car?

My HF compressor says that it's rated at 5.8cfm @40psi. The specs. on these guns say it only needs 4cfm@40 to operate. Is this true? Then shouldn't these guns be LVLP? Anyways, I was going to purchase the Spray-it 33000 LVLP, but after reading the excellent reviews & checking the specs on these guns, I'm leaning towards these HVLP guns. I just need some confirmation from anyone that paints cars regularly or someone that has painted a car with a similar set-up if this can be done with good atomization. Thanks.
Asked by: ProjectC10
NO, you need at least 4.5-5 hp to do that much painting. It WILL operate at that pressure, but you need the HP to keep up with it.

HVLP and Standard Gravity Feed Spray Gun Kit is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 58.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Spray Guns for Painting Cars!!!! I purchased this kit along with another HVLP spray gun( 3 spray guns in total). I used 1 for primer, 1 for base coat, and 1 for clear coat. This was my first time ever painting a car and the car came out great!!!! The proof is in the pudding!!! Look at the pic! I used 1.8mm tip for primer and 1.4mm for base coat and clear coat. I sprayed at 28-30 psi for primer, 30 psi for base coat and I find it best to spray at 32-35 psi for clear coat for less orange peel.

It comes with everything needed to get started. The spray gun requires 4.0 scfm @40psi from your air compressor. My Makita MAC2400 2.5hp air compressor had no trouble keeping up with my light duty weekend warrior spraying work, but you would want something much bigger. Note: the kit only comes with a 1.4mm tip, which is suitable for certain finishes. I called Husky to order a 1.8mm tip and needle kit so I could spray acrylic paints as well, which they promptly sent me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, even with latex Easy to assemble and clean. We used interior and exterior latex (both of which are not recommended according to the instructions) and had no problems spraying them on some cabinets. Compared to my big, airless sprayer, this tool has much less overspray and uses a lot less paint. It's also slower, but that's why I use it for smaller stuff like cabinets. In any case, it is still faster than brush or roller and creates a better finish. One tip: Keep the toothbrush-like cleaner handy when you are spraying. I found it handy to occasionally give the nozzle a quick brush during spray sessions.
