Product Overview

Husky spray guns feature stainless steel needles and precision air caps for reliability and perfect paint atomization. All Husky Spray Guns have the controls located at the rear of the gun to allow comfortable use by left and right hand operators. This Husky spray gun kit features both a conventional and HVLP spray gun both with 600 cc paint cups. Husky HVLP (high volume-low pressure) technology provides high material transfer efficiency, eliminates paint waste and requires lower air volume. Both spray guns in this kit are ideal for high volume paint application for car refurbishing, industrial, wall painting and woodwork. These guns are not suitable for use with Latex Paint. The guns are easy to clean and come complete with a cleaning brush set and multi wrench. The kit also includes in-line regulators, extra paint cups and paint filters.

Painting Interior Walls

I plan on painting the interior walls of my home. Do spray guns save time? Are they recommended for interior painting? I have a Husky 8-gallan 125psi compressor will this power this or any type of spray guns?
Asked by: Regdawg
These are not suited to the heavy bodied paint you'll be using. You need a setup specifically designed for latex. And yes spray guns save a lot of time. It's all in the HP, not tank size. That volume of painting (compares to a car) would require 4HP min. Airless latex guns are well...airless !

It says these guns are not suitable for latex. If you ordered the 1.8mm tip would latex be a problem?

Asked by: JWW
You just have to get the right tip (see my comment/ordering info from last year). We sprayed 36 4'x8' lattice sheets for a skirting job and had no problem with latex. I have two guns and one is dedicated to latex and the other oil.

Can this kit be used to spray texture on drywall?

I purchased the kit and was wondering if I can use any of the guns provided to spray drywall texture (orangepeel) on my interior walls... Ya? or should I purchase something else?
Asked by: Aterry
No. Tip orifice is far too small.

How is the standard gun different?

I bought this and the manuals for each are the same. Is the standard (non-HVLP) different? Has anyone painted with it and does it do a lot of over spray like the older guns or more like the HVLP?
Asked by: manfjourde
Both guns are great and can be used for similar applications. The advantage of the HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) gun is that it is designed to operate at a lower PSI (Generally between 20 and 30 PSI at the gun as opposed to 40-45 PSI on the conventional guns. Theory is that since the paint is coming out of the gun softer, you will have less "Bounce Back" and more material will stick to the surface. This will result in using less paint. The HVLP models are a California mandate to meet their EPA requirements. Please ensure that all paints are thinned properly according to the paint manufactures specifications. The paint need to pour smoothly similar to syrup. This is very important especially when using latex paints..

What's the models numbers for these 2 guns. I'm looking to change over to a pps system

Asked by: Brendan
It seems like every one is using the HVLP gun pretty much. Why would anyone even want the standard spray gun? Wouldn't it be smarter to get a kit with more nozzles with out the std gun for less money?

HVLP and Standard Gravity Feed Spray Gun Kit is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, even with latex Easy to assemble and clean. We used interior and exterior latex (both of which are not recommended according to the instructions) and had no problems spraying them on some cabinets. Compared to my big, airless sprayer, this tool has much less overspray and uses a lot less paint. It's also slower, but that's why I use it for smaller stuff like cabinets. In any case, it is still faster than brush or roller and creates a better finish. One tip: Keep the toothbrush-like cleaner handy when you are spraying. I found it handy to occasionally give the nozzle a quick brush during spray sessions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best spray guns for the price I bought these last year and am using for car painting, so far they work nice, they spray and look like more expensive spray guns that ive tried before. Im sure it will work with house paint with the 1.8 tip and diluted with water. I havent tried it yet

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gets job done First let me say this regarding negative HAVE to follow the instructions on use and care. Secondly, you have to use the appropriate product. Pancake syrup comsitency/viscoscity in the paint or primer and you will be just fine. Thirdly, and finally i bought this kit because it was taking a lot of paint and a lot of time tonpeime the drywall in my garage. I bought this kit and used kilz pva primer. Both work great together. Take your time, anything worth doing is worth doing right. I wanted to prime the garage walls to make my house more appealing to buyers when i list it next month. Right tool for the right job folks makes everything easier and faster.

While these guns do a good job spraying (I'm a pro. painter) they are IMPOSSIBLE to clean !! There is a chamber where the top feed makes a 90deg turn and goes toward the nozzle. It is rough, oversize, and inaccessible to clean, paint builds up, and comes out in dried spects. No amount of soaking, blowing, or gun cleaner works. Use these ONLY for single color or clear only applications !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely did the job I used both guns to spray latex paint. The hvlp gun worked great. I ran it with 50 ft of hose at 60psi Not a single issue. 4 stars because the adjustments didn't do much. Could have been the thick paint though. Basically great gun for the price. The one con is the case won't hold the guns once you put the air fittings on. Seems kind of stupid to me.

After I got t it home and opened the packaging, my first impression is that the locks on the plastic case are flat out garbage, I don't see them lasting more than a month. Next I opened the case and looked at the instructions because I was curios as to where the filters supplied were to be installed. But the directions take you straight to how to spray without any direction on how to assemble the hopper to the gun. So I look through the manual and find where the filter goes and assemble. The filters fit so loosely that I don't see how they perform any function at all as the paint will go around the filter (path of least resistance) and any impurities will clog the gun. I'm not going to waste my time putting paint through this gun as I am sure from what I have already seen that the results cannot be good from such a cheaply made product so I am going to save myself the headache and paint and return this set in the morning.
