Customer Questions & Answers

Are the Fasteners corrugated

Asked by: Rf
The fasteners this nailer uses are the very common 18 gauge, glue collated, narrow crown staples like the one below: 1" - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Freeman-1-in-18-Gauge-Staples-NS18-1/203503473

Is it oil-free or not?

In the online description of this tool, it says, "Oil-free design eliminates need for daily lubrication". It got delivered with a little bottle of oil, and the manual has instructions for lubrication. It also says, "Failure to lubricate the tool properly will dramatically shorten the life of the tool and void your warranty." So, which is it? Admittedly, I'm new to pneumatic staplers. Maybe this model needs much less oil than most, but it sounds like "Oil-free design" may be an overstatement?

Oiling is preventative maintenance. The Teflon O-rings will allow the nailer to fire without oiling, unlike rubber O-rings. However, adding oil regularly (every 1,000 nails or so) will greatly extend the life of the nailer and increase consistent performance.

Customer Reviews

Pneumatic 1.25 in. x 18-Gauge Narrow Crown Stapler is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best one around This Husky pneumatic stapler has to be the best one on the market. No more having to put oil in every time I picked it to use (thank goodness). The narrow staples slide in easy and there is every easy to use closer. I chose 90lbs pressure and over the next few minutes I adjusted the depth wheel too see if it worked. It was perfect result every time. I used 1” staples on a number of projects using almost 2,000 staples and not one misfired or got jammed. This unit looks real good and feels great in the hand. Heavy enough to be solid and yet light enough for continuous use without getting fatigued. I carried on using the 90lbs on a bigger project joining a half inch thick plywood to a shed roof, again with no jamming. Great product and highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality - Oil-free design This stapler is well constructed while light enough to finish different projects without getting your hand tired. I didn’t have an issue with loading or misfire, but I was still very careful using it in just in case. I’m very happy with the performance of this and the price is very reasonable considering the excellent quality. Another big plus is its oil free design. It makes a big difference not having to put oil in with every use and carrying the little bottle of oil which it always tends to leak and gets my other things oily in the tool box. I would highly recommend this brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice addition to my set I needed a fastener for hidden areas with a bit more gripping power on thin materials. This does the job perfectly. It also has a built in swivel fitting for the air hose that makes fitting the tool into tight spaces easier with less stress from the hose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice oil free design I have just completed a project reupholstering dining room chairs. This stapler worked like a charm. Had no problems. It's great that it is so light weight; therefore, your hand doesn't get tired at all. Seems to be well made -- especially for the price!
