Rated 5 out of 5 by The Quick Release makes this thing AWESOME Let's face it. A tubing cutter isn't the most glamorous tool in the toolbox, but....... Anytime I can save time and become more efficient, I'LL TAKE IT! The cutting action is the same as any other cutter out there. The HIGHLIGHT is the quick release that allows you to open up the cutter blade for your next cut. Man, that is a time saver. With the flick of the little lever, you slide the cutting wheel area open to get it over the diameter of your next cut and then slide it tight against the material so you are ready to start cutting your next piece. As a bonus, there is a spare cutting wheel in the handle. Very nice add-on August 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good small tubing cutter I like the compact size, able to get into small spaces, but able to be spun without the resistance that cheaper brands seem to have. I really like the quick release, and the jaw opening is enough to handle most "residential" sizes of tubing. I've only cut copper so far but should work just fine on other thin-walled metals. Also cuts straight, like it should, but worth mentioning of course. July 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Husky Quick Release 1 1/8in Mini Tube Cutter I needed a small tube cutter to get in to close area where the big wouldn't fit. This one I liked because it well made and will not break under pressure cutting the tubing. I really like the quick release to slide it opening or closing. Other units you have to adjust with the knob. Press of the quick release and you have closer to tubing so you make the cut. It comes with a replacement cutting wheel inside the knob. What a great idea. If the cutter wheel breaks you don't have to stop what you doing and run to the store and get another one to replace it. The knob is large enough do get a good grip to turn the knob when cutting. Great product! November 11, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worked For 5 Minutes The initial opinon of this tubing cutter was a sense of quality. It was made of good sturdy metal & worked well when operating it out of the package. It probably is a good product but my experience was different. When trying to cut 1/4" copper tubing, the first two pieces were cut quickly & easily. The cuts were smooth & the quick release greatly reduced the time between cuts. On the 3rd piece, the quick release button top fell off. The tiny screw that held it in place was nowhere to be found. Now with the quick release feature disabled, it was just a standard tubing cutter. The screw will be replaced (using a thread locker) but this failure during first use is a disappointment. Rated 1 out of 5 by Broken Would not tighten upon resistance. As soon as I took it out of the package and put it on a 1/4 copper tube it would tighten down until it reached the smallest of resistance. Once ANY resistance was met (trying to tighten against the tube withe the knob) it just freely spins and does not tighten any further. TOTAL CHINA GARBAGE! March 15, 2014
