Customer Questions & Answers

Will this cut 3/4" conduit?

Asked by: twadd
I would think that this cutter will cut 3/4'' thinwall conduit. It will possibly shorten the useful life of the tool however, in my opinion. Also you will swedge a choke on the end of the tube that may cause a problem when you are fishing in the wires unless it is completely removed.

Quick Release 1-1/8 in. Tube Cutter is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick Release 1-1/8 Tube Cutter I own a larger Husky tube cutter but required a smaller size for closer and tighter locations. Speed adjustment is great because you can push rollers against pipe very easily. Storage of extra cutting blade is in handle. Very durable and heavy. I also like the quick release red button. You don't have to turn rollers multiple times to crank rollers up to the pipe/cutting blade. Cuts from 5/8 in. to 1-1/8 in. of pipe. Adding this size to my collection of tube cutters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Pro Grade Tool I usually have success with Husky tools holding up to the task as the more expensive name brands and the Husky quick release tubing cutter didn't disappoint! The well designed cutter is well constructed and well designed. It has a spare cutter blades stored in the handle and a reamer that folds nicely out the way at the back of the cutter. I used the Husky cutter for cutting primarily 1/2" copper pipe. With some cheaper tubing cutters I usually experience "walk" or drift of the cutting wheel that would cause a bad cut but the Husky made a square clean cut every time. I didn't use the quick release as much as I thought I would but the times I did try it, it worked perfectly. There's just not a lot variance when cutting 1/2" copper. I didn't try on cutting other material even though it states it will cut metal tubing (EMT), I believe the Husky would do the task without and problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sharp Husky Pipe Cutter Husky pipe cutter cuts pipe up to 1 1/8 thick. It has a reamer attached on the side for finishing the cuts. The Quick Release button is small and kinds hard to operate, but it does the job. The threads allow for a nice even cut without having to torque down on the cutting handle. IOts small enough to do the job at hand up to the recommended size and fits in the tool belt or tool bag nicely.

Used to cut steel tubing to support a shower caddy and then a curtain rod, both of approximately 14 gauge thickness. It was easy to use and made a very clean cut with very little burs on the inside. Use any tubing cutter with patience by applying gentle pressure with each go round and it should last a long time.
