As an employee of the industrial power tool industry, I understand the principle of the ring gear speed increase. Unlike a power tool, the operator is the means to securing the ring gear from moving, enabling the inner idler gears to operate. This means you need 2 hands to operate this screwdriver. Once you get used to it, it decreases the task time considerably. It comes with most of the essential bits for around the home, and also has a set of sockets for nut driving. I think this will have the greatest benefit for driving nuts, as you do not need to hold the end effector on the fastener like you do with screws. That said, I have used it on screws, and it works good there as well. Slotted screws are the biggest problem. The quality is OK, but it doesn't feel like it can take a lot of abuse. When removing a fastener, you generally need to give it a start before you use the 3:1 gear ratio, as it is sacrificing some torque for the speed (physics).

Solid tool but lacking details, ratchet is a bit rough, switch to reverse is hard to use. Piece on the inside storage compartment was dis-attached in mine. The price is right though.

I was hopping that it would ratchet 3X with one hand. The screwdriver for me only turned 2 1/2 times.
