At first, the may not look like it, but they do what they're designed for, and do it very quick!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by WallyWB Average - But not the worst
There are a lot of bad reviews for this tool. I've had caulking tools that were actually worse than this one. This one leaves a good bead, and thus far it's gone through multiple tours of duty. For the money, it's not bad. There are probably better ones out there, but this is not the worst. Caulk does build up under the rubber and it is hard to clean at times. I expect this tool to last for a little while longer, but if it falls apart, I may look around for something different. I haven't used the removal tool yet. I have only used this on new projects. So far, pretty good - it gets the job done.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Charlie27 A serious design flaw
This tool did produce a nice bead. The problem is that the silicone rubber edger is very poorly attached t to the plastic handle, and there are many notches in that handle. The rubber edger pulled out when I tried to clean off excess caulk (I used OSI Quad caulk). The excess caulk filled all those notches. Cleaning would have been a tedious, incomplete process and with the ease the rubber edger popped out, wouldn't be worth it. It worked once, but it's in the trash now. The tool design is excellent and easy to use. Make it out of metal and charge me accordingly and I'll pay it. Plastic tools are rarely any good.

For 5 bucks you cant go wrong, works great, other people had some many negative reviews, well they were doing something wrong. If you expect a perfect seam then hire someone, once you figure the angle that works best for you, you cant mess it up. you will have a great looking seam.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MattC Sadly, I didn't check reviews before I went to the store
This review is 90% for the removal tool and 10% for the caulking tool. To begin, the removal tool appears to be sturdy plastic until used. Even when the caulk is loosened with other means (e.g. fixed blade, etc ... which one should not have to do especially if the caulk is only 1-2 yrs old), the edge will mar and make it quite inadequate for the job (and future jobs) around the house. Loads of original caulk will remain and make you go back with another fixed blade to appropriately clean the surface. Horrid design. Absolutely horrid.
As for the caulking tool, the attachment is pliable and creates a very smooth surface to the placed bead. This is a very good tool, but Home Depot sells other tools -- exactly like it -- with a metal removal tool at the same price. I wish I'd seen the metal, combo tool before purchasing this one.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HairytheApe Worse product ever used
If you are attempting to remove silicone calk that's been in something (like a shower/tub enclosure) for several years, this tool is next to USELESS! It WILL NOT do the job. The perfect calking spreader/smoother is next to nothing too. Just use some masking tape and your finger for better results!! On a scale of 1 to10, I give this value pack a -100!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JimW Good applicator, meh removal tool
The applicator seems to work quite well. The natural rubber tool allows you to adjust the fillet size by hand pressure and angle. The soft rubber applicator does not get stuck on bumps where a hard plastic or metal tool would. You can flip the rubber piece around for a second edge. I wore out four of these caulking some very rough surfaces; I was surprised how well they held up.
If using silicone caulk, don't let the caulk cure on the white rubber. It won't easily come off later and may leave streaks.
The removal tool seems OK for weakly adhered caulk, but you will want a metal tool for most removal jobs. I had to attack the old caulk with hardened steel tooling.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Handyman It's worth it
This tool does its job very well, it's not made for doing more than one tub. For the price it is very well designed. The plastic won't scratch or mar surfaces. Take your time use all the different sides till you find the best one for surface. It will lose its edge after awhile, so if your doing a big job get two.
