I had a lot of sanding and quickly realized that this was more trouble than it was worth. The suction from the vacuum makes sanding even harder. The hose makes it unwieldly. I took it back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Darkrock 95% of dust in the shop vac bin
The hand sanding head works with screened abrasives (1 provided) and it connected to my small shop vac very simply without using an adapter. Left minimal amounts of dust behind and had zip floating around in the air. Only downside is the length of the hose which a couple extra feet would have kept the vac on the floor rather than strapped to a 2-step ladder. Make no mistake, if you do not have a drywall dust filter with the vac it is useless.

Love using this. Sucks up virtually all drywall dust. The hose is nice and long (6 ft) and flexible. I didn't realize how well it worked until I used it without hooking up the hose because I was just touching up a small area and didn't think it would be necessary. Big mistake.
The inconvenience of dealing with the hose far outweighs not having to deal with a huge drywall dust mess.
Getting used to the screens vs sandpaper takes some time, but overall, very highly recommended.
Made in Canada.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by D0nnie Works well, hard on the arms
This worked surprisingly well hooked up to our house vacuum. However, the hose is rather heavy to work in a sanding motion, especially overhead. Wish it had a lighter, more flexible hose.

This setup works very well, I highly recommend it. It adapts to large and small shop vacuums and the 1/4 turn knobs are great!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Alejandro Little sander that makes little mess
This little sander does what it claims to do. Sanding can be just a bit awkward (since you have a tube moving back and forth), but it beats getting down and vacuuming a ton of dust. It's a great value for a DYI'er. Make sure you buy extra sanding pads, and your vacuum filter is clean to make the job goes smooth and your work area stays clean.

really keeps the dust to a minimum so I would say it's very effective for it's designed purpose.
