Customer Questions & Answers

Do these rollers need periodic lubrication? If yes, what lubricant would you advise?

Asked by: aumsiv
These rollers do not require lubrication but the tack and the load spring should be lubricated every six months, especially the spring above the door.

if I have steel wheels can I use nylon wheels

Asked by: chopper
Yes. These are a great replacement for steel wheels. Much quieter and have better bearings which should last longer.

How do the rollers in the 10 pack differ from the rollers in the 2 pack ?

Asked by: JT
The 2-pack & 10-pack are the same rollers. You just get a volume price, so to speak. No reason to buy the 2-pack unless you are replacing only 1 or 2 rollers.

Years ago I put all new steel ones in. There is a world of difference with the nylon ones being so much quieter. Be aware if you have a torsion spring for the door, you probably want to get a professional to do it. You can get injured not knowing what you're doing. I lifted the door all the way open to do the bottom rollers. I unplugged door opener. I then braced one side while unhooking the cable on the other side. ONLY do one side at a time. I started at the bottom since they're the hardest ones to do. Make sure you put a clamp on the opposite side of door you're working on when door is raised. Once the bottom ones were done, I plugged the opener back in to close the door. Make sure you unplug it again to proceed with the rest of the openers. You don't want the door to open suddenly when your fingers are near the tracks. I've included some pictures with clamp in place and old & new rollers. This is a highly recommended product.

The bearings went out on one of my old metal rollers and I was considering just replacing that one. I am sooooo glad that I replaced all ten. While no garage door is quiet during operation, these rollers are much quieter than the ones they replaced. The roller housing for the bottom rollers may be connected via a cable to the counterweight spring above the door. If so, be sure to replace the bottom two rollers with the garage door up to relieve the tension on the cable connected to the counterweight spring.

They reduce the noise of the old metal rollers that were at least 20 years old. Insulation was a snap if you follow the video. You need only a few tools . A couple of vice grips, a large screw driver or small crow bar, a hammer and a small ladder or step stool. It took me about an hour to install the rollers. I'm going to order another set of rollers to fix the other garage door which is just as old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rollers mt garage door is whisper quiet now This is stupid if you want my feedback you'll take the quick answers and this little 50 character thing is useless and a waste of time and this is the last time I will ever do feedback for you guys again because it's stupid. If you want to review want it you can do your own that's what you want to hire employees for. I suggest you shorten it up next time you want feedback on your products to waste my time

So far, I replaced a few of the broken metal rollers with the nylon rollers and they are much quieter. I will eventually replace all the metal rollers. The bearings on the metal rollers don't seem to wear or last long. The shaft and rollers on the nylon ones appear to be more solid and heavier. I definitely recommend them over the metal ones. Too bad they don't come in black rollers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Roller seem to be excellent quality The rollers have only been on the door for a couple of weeks, but they seem quite good. They are much quieter than my old metal rollers. One disappointing thing was that there were only 9 rollers. I should have checked at the store, but this isn't important enough to pursue. I had really only wanted to replace the problem rollers.

Each roller came with ten bearing balls as described and is sturdily constructed. Replacing old rollers with the new units was fairly easy following instructions on YouTube. They perform smoothly and quietly.

Old rollers were a full .125 less in diameter than the new rollers, mostly missing the radius. New nylon rollers were installed and the door was instantly smoother and had reduced noise. Going to replace my rollers at home now too.
