It says 87 lbs but it feels more like 35! The UPS guy carried it in on one shoulder, you can push it across the floor with one hand. (Empty, of course)

Answer:
Nameplate start-up is 9 amps, but runs less than 1 amp after it cools down the cabinet. Typical 15 amp outlet is good is you're not running vacuums/ other high amp stuff off same circuit.

Answer:
In short; minimal.
These small freezers will really run fine on a fifteen amp circuit, and that includes sharing the line with other loads.
The running current is under an amp, and start-up surge hardly much more.
Does that answer tell you all you wanted to know?

As a safe practice, I try to keep ample spaace along each side on the Freezer. This is to make sure that the unit has plenty of "breathing room" for prroper cooling. I know that there are no vents or intake areas on the left side, but would still be cautious.

Answer:
I would not advise setting the frfeezer on low pile carpet. This can definetly cut down on the units ability to cool, as the air will not get under the unit as easily since it is not on a hard floor. I would recommend a hard floor location as the carpet could play a factor in the units ability to function correctly.

I'd imagine it should be fine. Ours is in a room with low pile carpet as well and I've seen no negative repercussions, nor do I see any reason it would be a problem.

3.5 cu. ft. Chest Freezer in White is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 394.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and quiet I plugged it in for the first time and thirty minutes later the “run” light went off. I was anticipating the usual two to four hour chill down period so I was surprised when the light went out so soon. I thought something had gone wrong until I checked inside. The inner walls were already covered with frost and the interior air felt freezing cold. Also I was afraid of possible exterior damage due to the reviews of other customers and their complaints of poor or skimpy packing. Well, my unit arrived in perfect condition and while some of the packing materials looked barely adequate they did the job and protected my purchase. I am quite pleased with the unit and I especially like the smaller 3.5 cubic feet capacity since I am single and I do not need anything larger. On top of everything else the unit is very quiet.

This little freezer works well and is a perfect solution for our single daughter to use. She was able to put the buck that she shot on opening day in this freezer as well as a few other items. This is a great item for people who have a small space and yet need additional freezer storage. It works well for a single person as well as for a small family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Happy Happy Happy with finally ordering this freezer! Super easy to place where I needed it. Light enough to move alone before loading it up. Holds tons to stuff for the size 3.5. I live in a loft so the best place to put was in the closet and it fit perfectly. So happy to finally be able to loosen up my kitchen freezer. AND the price was just right! LOVE this Freezer!

It is just the right size and looks nice in the utility room of the house. The only problem is that the electrical is on the right side of the freezer at the front edge. My electrical connection is on the left. It requires an extension cord. It would seem more practical to put the wire in the middle of the back of the machine. That would accommodate plugs on either side of the machine.

I have a small kitchen and the freezer in my refrigerator (which has an ice-maker) is too small too hold much, and I like to buy in bulk and prepare meals ahead of time. There is no way to upgrade the fridge without redoing the cabinets and lighting, so the far better solution was a free-standing freezer. This unit is compact, was easy to put in place and the price was right.

We waited a few days before plugging it in in case it was tipped more than 45 degrees during the delivery (per instructions). When it was first plugged in, it gave off a terrible odor after awhile. It was quickly unplugged. After a few days, it was plugged in again. While the odor didn't appear, neither did the cooling. It never cooled down, even after almost 30 hours. It was promptly returned. It may be a good product, but I'll never buy another Igloo freezer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Purchase I rent and the freezer on my refrigerator is the size of a microwave. This is the perfect freezer if you need the extra space. It's small, quiet and perfect. After comparison shopping, this was also the best price.
