Does Nut Sedge Killer kill Tall Fescue?

I read your answers to this very question, but they don't answer the question. Therefore I ask it again. Does Nut Sedge kill Tall Fescue? The Instruction book attached to the container lists Tall Fescue under control of winter weeds to kill. It doesn't make sense that a weed killer would kill the lawn. Please clarify.

Answer:
Image Nutsedge killer will DEFINITELY KILL FESCUE! Even though it says it can be used on warm season grasses, it does not make it clear to NOT USE ON COOL SEASON GRASSES! There should be a warning to not use on cool season grasses. Use something else like SedgeHammer. It won't kill any grasses.

Answer:
Hello,
The Image Nutsedge Killer will kill tall fescue. This is because tall fescue is used as a turf grass in cool season states. Where as in warm season or transitional states tall fescue is considered a weed.

Answer:
Hello,
Image Herbicide Consumer Concentrate Kills Nutsedge is not approved for use on Ryegrass. You might consider the Image Herbicide Kills Crabgrass (SKU# 162-803) as an option. It is approved for use on Perennial Ryegrass and kills a wide variety of weeds including crabgrass.

This was recommended to me by a home depot garden gal as the best for dollar weed. Not no, but, well, you know. I went so far as to pour the concentrate directly without mixing. I swear I heard the dollar weed laughing. Maybe it's good for nutsedge, not at all for dollar weed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Variety I like this product and probably going to switch to it because it is cheaper than halosulfuron and controls kyllinga as well as a small host of other pesky weeds. The loss of one star is for its lesser effectiveness on yellow and purple nutsedge compared to halosulfuron.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Killed centipede grass, left Bahia I used this product as directed. It killed almost all of my centipede grass, but not the bahiagrass, as it is advertised to do. Now I have a brown lawn with large patches of nuisance grass. It did, however, kill all my nutsedge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works if mixed correctly andapplied as directed Here in N. Texas we have a constant fight with annual blue grass (annua poa) crowding into our tif Bermuda lawns. I have used this product for years with excellent results. Need to mix as directed and apply on a cool windless morning. If you try to apply in the heat and/or wind it will evaporate. Needs time to soak in. After appx 24 hours it needs to be watered in to reach the roots. Follow this procedure and it will kill the target grass/weeds. Those who come here saying product does not work are not following the procedure. The only issue I have is that in spring 2014 I have not found stores with the concentrate which is already pricey and the ready mix is very pricey. But nothing else works on the blue grass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works If Applied Correctly Have had a bad infestation of Annual Rye (Poe) in my back yard. It gets a lot of run off from neighbors, so it stays damper. Applied Image to areas two weeks ago, and then it rained next day. All areas I applied it to are dead or are dying now. Walked around and applied to new areas last night, suppose to get inch of rain tonight. The product does work if it is applied as directed. Watering it in is one of the most important parts, and using the correct amount per gallon of water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Image/Nutsedge Product kills crabgrass, nutgrass, etc if used properly. It works on the roots and thus must be watered in within a day or so after application. The advantage is that it can be applied from a hose end sprayer without the spray nozzle to yard. This reduces spray drift onto other areas. I just applied it and then ran the sprinler system that night. It takes 2 or so weeks to have an effect, although you can see weeds becoming lighter green sooner. Will probably have to re-apply in 3 or 4 weeks to finish everything off. I applied it to hybrid bermuda grass without any effect on the grass. Much lower cost than Sledgehammer for nutgrass. The other Image "similiar use" products for crabgrass/nutgrass, etc containing MSMA that work through the foliage must be applied with pressure sprayer (not hose end) which drifts onto "other" things and must remain on the foliage to work.
