Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OhioJason It ABSOLUTELY works. Here is proof
The proof is in the pictures folks! Bought a new one gallon sprayer with the adjustable spray pattern tip (use the fan tip and walk a grid). I walked slow while swingin my arm like a pendulum. I sprayed the whole lawn and it ONLY killed the crab grass. O live in Ohio and have a mixture of fescue, kentucky blue, and rye grass which easily survived the treatment. Although drought like conditions have already caused some of my grass to go dormant (browned out and looks dead but isnt.)I put the product in the sprayer first, then filled with hot water, then added an ounce of laundry detergent (doesn't get sudsy). Then stir it with a paint stick to mix. Why? I found out that the professional lawn care guys use a pro grade surfactant ( we DIYers will have to resort to the laundry detergent or Johnson's baby shampoo). The surfactant reduces the surface tension of water/oils (the plant naturally produces) and allows the QUINCLORAC to penetrate. If you go with a product that doesn't have a large percentage of quinclorac in it you are wasting your money. 2 applications applied one right after the other on my front yard on a Tuesday and by Saturday I took the pictures shown. It didn't kill all of the crab grass, but I will do another application that should get the younger sprouting crab grass. It grows sooo fast in the heat! You really must treat the crab grass in the month of July. The further south you are, the earlier in July you will need to apply. You better hope you catch it before the seedlings sprout! Lesson learned....use a crab grass pre emergent in the spring EVERY year. Especially since my neighbors dont care about their lawn and do nothing but mow their grass...I mean weeds and clover.

This stuff is easy to mix and use. Works great! Getting hard to find but don't settle for the 'new' replacement - it is NOT the same.

I followed the directions on the packet. One packet emptied in sprayer and added one gallon of water. Had great results in two days with crabgrass dying off. I would definitely buy this product again.

I love IMAGE Crabgrass killer. When applied properly to weeds and crabgrass, it is truly effective. IMAGE has saved me hours of lawn work-pulling weeds. After application the weeds stay gone. I apply IMAGE any time of the summer when/where needed. Thanks!

I live in Charlotte NC. My crab grass was going crazy and taking over my Fescue. After trying other products with no success I decided to try this product. I put this down with a pump sprayer with no rain within 24 hours and mixed exactly as directed. After a week went by with no sign of it attacking the crabgrass. I thought it was a slow kill. Well it has not been 4 weeks. I put this down the 3rd week of July when crabgrass was really growing. It has slowed the crabgrass some. And I am now getting yellow spots. Not the results I expected at all. I was hoping the crabgrass would be almost completely dead now and I could start raking up the dead grass getting ready for seed in Sept.

Our yard is off a retention pond (therefore a lot of torpedo grass) and is mowed by our Association. We are responsible for our flower beds which became infiltrated by the Torpedo Grass. The first time I removed by digging 18" and pulling up the vine like roots, within 4 months grew back and Round Up didn't touch these. I dug them up again in one bed with a 6" border around the decorative concrete border. We used it once so far and like another reviewer mentioned added 1 ounce of Wisk laundry detergent, watered in after about 5 days and within two weeks half the lawn looks dead (all Torpedo Grass taken over the Bermuda Grass) and much of the 2 foot high Torpedo Grass which I didn't dig up in another bed is turning yellow at the tops and dying off. I plan to reapply 3 weeks after initial treatment and hope that will do it. If not I plan to reapply a third time 3 weeks later again. Now that I know the HOA only mows not treats for weeds I will be more vigilant. We moved in Jan. 2016 and by June this Torpedo Grass took over own lawn and flower beds. Beats the pants off Round up for Torpedo Grass.

This is a solid product that kills crabgrass. Established crabgrass is hard to kill. So, it is crucial to cover/soak the entire weed. Be sure not to dilute it. It works well at full strength. If the crabgrass is thick and well established, it may take a second treatment.
