Thank you for your question wanting to know if the chime needed to be programmed after changing batteries? We do recommend a reset. To do the reset press down on the one button on the unit itself until you hear it chime then release the button and you should hear two chimes and then one chime. Then be sure the push button is not in your hand but on a hard surface. Then press the push button to set Read More

I want to add a chime to my basement because this isn't loud enough to hear down there. I also want to add a button to the back door. Anyone know if this can work?

Anybody have the door bell ring randomly even when no body pushed the button? Maybe due to low batteries?

I have to agree the sensitive of the outside button is difficult for the users to hit that sweet spot to make it ring, but not a big problem. I haven't replaced the batteries in a while and was wondering why the chimes started going off all by themselves 2 or 3 times a day. I'm thinking low batteries and will try that. I was just curious if it has happened to anyone else :)

Answer:
I have this bell, just the receiver is plugin no batteries. At my old place, the door bell goes off every time my neighbor used his ceiling fan remote... So he changed his remote settings, and no more bells ringing. Same as my new place, no bells going on yet (just moved here 3 months ago) If you can find a pattern of the ringing, you can find the problem causing it

Inadequate volume. Is there any way to adjust it? Or a possible discount on a replacement?

Answer:
i did buy this - most of the time it works well but i believe i am going to have to replace it soon because you have to hit right on the "sweet spot" to make it "ring"
it's the best one i have had tho - doesn't make it great but i will get it again

Wireless Battery Operated 2-Tone Basic Door Chime is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from After 8 Years My Door Chime gave up Ringing. I think this concept and the affordably is great . 8 years of service including a move saw neighbors and friends purchasing one also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No bueno After buying rechargeable batteries AND a charger, this little booger did not work! UGH. It chimes when I put the batteries in. It will work once with the button and then not again until I reseat the batteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as represented I can't understand the complaints about the volume of this unit. I find it actually annoyingly loud.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not loud enough The doorbell works fine, but the sound level needs to be boosted quite a bit. Cannot be heard through a closed door or at the other end of a large house even without other noises such as TV or radio.
Date published: 2014-12-20
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Door chime Works well in our 1500sq foot house with a single story. The chime is low and would not be a good choice for a larger or 2 story home since you would not hear the doorbell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointment Product did not work. Lost the receipt so I could not return for exchange or credit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No volume Found this worthless door chime installed at my daughters house (renting). Batteries seem fresh or at least strong enough but "CANNOT" hear chime when button pushed. Even Superman would not be able to hear this one.
