I'm very very hard of hearing and use this in an apartment complex and now folks don't have to hurt themselves knocking hard.

my mom was waiting for her doorbell to be repaired for over two years. she went to home depot herself and asked for a replacement button. unfortunately the button was not compatible with her chime so I went to the home depot website and found an already paired doorbell set. all i did was put batteries in it and it sounded off! perfect! she returned the other button and got that money back. this item has a 5 star rating by all the users and i can see why. the chime does'nt hang on the wall so if she is out in the backyard she can take the chimer with her and be able to hear when someone comes to the front door. another good thing is if the tv is up loud the chime has a blinking light on it so you can still tell when someone has rang the bell! could'nt ask for more other than had she told me she needed a new button before she bought just any old universal button, i would have checked online first to see if it was compatible with her older model chime. would have saved her a trip to the store, my sisters time and gas to get her there, and gotten the best doorbell set they carry for an awsome price. i recommend this product to all who need a button or a new chimer. if you have an old chime that still works, not all buttons will be compatible. it actually costs more to by the items separate.

Strobe light is not powerful enough for a deaf person to recognize. Works only in a room for a person that is directly in the sight of the strobe light. The doorbell chime works well and is adjustable. I'd rate it much higher If the strobe light shone MORE around the room. Often, knowing someone is at the door is missed because of that. That it is wireless makes it desirable and was easy to install outside the entrance door.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LME9 Love this doorbell!
I had a new front door and screen replaced. The workman accidently broke the doorbell wire when installing the door, so I needed a wireless option. This fits the bill! I had purchased a portable IQ America doorbell kit 7 yrs. ago for my back door. It had no doorbell. The flat battery in the push button lasted 6 years! I would purchase this doorbell kit in the future. I like the fact that I can move the portable chime unit to different rooms and still hear the doorbell, when I am working around the house. I only wish the frame of the push button was metal, so it looked more like an traditional doorbell. Great product!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SomeGuy Works great for hearing impaired aunt
My aunt is hard of hearing and recently moved to a new apartment where the layout makes it very difficult for her to hear someone at her door. This cordless doorbell is exactly what we needed and serves its purpose wonderfully. It came with the adhesive backing to mount the doorbell button without damaging any walls, and she can put the "bell" part of it wherever it needs to be so she can hear it and see the light flashing. Simple and effective.

I am pleased at how bright the strobe light is on the unit. It's nice that it is portable. You can take it from room to room if you want. It would be nice if it was a little louder for the hearing-impaired.

I bought this for my elderly parents who have had problems hearing their current door bell. The fact that the unit can be put in any room in the house and has a strobe light on it was a big "seller" to me. They love it and the setup was simple too. I took the existing door bell button off the house and taped up the wires. Then tucked them under the new door bell.

I purchased this product out of frustration. I have purchased several other remote door bells in the past. However, most did not work well. I work a lot out of my home office in the rear of the house. I am totally deaf in one ear, and a partial loss out of the other. We used to have a dog that would bark & come get me when someone rang the bell. She is gone now; and the cats are of no help. This product works great; it is positioned in my home office over my computer monitors, where I can not miss seeing the strobe, even if I don't hear the chime. I highly recommend it.
