Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best on the Market! I have bee using this for as long as I can remember, it may cost a bit more that other brands, but your home is worth the extra! Shed style roofs, just do the whole thing, other roofs I use 6ft eve November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good stuff, but difficult to work with I have not had any problems finding the ripcord. Just cut a little v-notch in the middle like the instructions say and pick it out with the point of your knife. Pieces less than a few feet can be put down singlehandly, but like others have pointed out, two or three is better. This stuff would be a real pain trying to align it without splitting the backer paper. I don't know why they just don't use two smaller pieces like other manufacturers do. It's really satisfying smoothing it out- you will find out how clean your roof is as you put it down. Those little plastic pieces that sometimes stick with the nail gun nails will show, but the ice May 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hard to work with. This is a great material as the last line of defense against water infiltration. But, it is costly and very difficult to work with. It's basically a sheet of thin plastic with a thin layer of tar on the back. It cannot be permanently left exposed to the sun. The roll is heavy and wants to slide off the roof. It's really a two (or more) person job. The material will even stretch if stressed and the edges can roll up. So, it is had to get it to lay perfectly flat without wrinkling. It is best to cut the strips on the ground or even cut into shorter pieces that must overlap. If the back touches itself, it sticks and cannot be separated. The roof should be cleaned well before placing down the material. A J-roller works pretty well to press the material onto the roof once properly positioned. September 16, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Roofing underlayment While I feel the product will protect my roof I found it very difficult to put on. The wire that is supposed to seperate the product backing in half was very difficult to locate. Once we figured out how to find it we had better success, but it was still not an easy application. This stuff is very sticky, which is good for the purpose it is intended for, but if it sticks to itself then just cut it off and start over. We finally found it easier to lay in shorter sections. We cut off 10 to 15 feet and laid it that way. So much easier and less wrinkles. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pro Roof Ice Water Shield Thick and durable every Roofer I know gets it so the new roof gets the protection it needs and the homeowner deserves. Can be pretty sticky in hot install days so early morn or later in day install best for product and person install. November 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Underlayment Can be tricky to install since it is very sticky, but performs great. September 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Grace Ice & Water Shield The product is difficult to rate until it has been on the roof for several years. My complaint was that the box says that a "rip-cord" is incorporated within the paper backing. Once you install this stuff by yourself you can understand the value that the rip-cord would provide. But this box did not have the rip-cord as stated. The other complaint is that one edge of the product has a 1/2 inch sticky strip. I can only assume that this is for applications where the user is overlapping from one sheet to another? In hot and windy weather this is difficult to install with these 2 issues. Overall the product makes sense, but it is expensive and difficult to use. July 24, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product, short roll lenghts Good product, would not do a roof without it. the only complaint is the rolls are not 75ft long... each roll was 3-5 foot short. April 30, 2015
