Product Overview

High performance 2.4Ghz Digital Splitters are used for splitting a single coax line into 4 lines. These splitters are designed for applications that operate in the 5MHz to 2.4Ghz range, which include: Satellite, Digital/HD Cable TV, Broadcast (over the air) TV, CCTV and other general purpose coaxial cable splitting requirements. Splitters support the 1Ghz to 2.4Ghz frequency range for satellite and on-demand cable television services. All ports on the 2.4Ghz splitters are power pass enabled. This allows any of the ports to be used to pass power from the satellite set top box to the satellite dish or multi-switch. All splitters include an internal printed circuit board design inside of a nickel plated zinc die cast housing which helps to improve overall splitter performance in return loss, insertion loss and port-to-port isolation measurements, resulting in a stronger, cleaner signal with more protection from outside signal interference. All 2.4Ghz splitters have a solid, sealed body for improved EMI/RFI performance. Standoff design allows cables to be routed behind the splitter for tight installations. Machine formed threads on the F ports allow for smooth connector mating. Splitters include a grounding screw port for attaching ground wires and two user accessible mounting holes.

What is the signal loss at each port? According to your answer here, your 3-way splitter has some ports more lossy than others. Is this one similar?
Asked by: Bill
Bill on a 3 way splitter one port has about 4 dB of loss and the other two port closer to 8 dB. You can buy them equalized and each port will have about 6.5 dB of loss. Hope that helps Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com.

Is it Moca compliant

Asked by: Chawii
Chawii MOCA frequencies range up to 1650 MHz so yes the splitter should be compliant, If you run into issues send me a note Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com

Tried the cable company for two days, never turned off DirecTv, but when Charter installed their system, the removed the original DirecTv splitter. Did not like Charter and had them remove the TV package, but needed to reconnect my DirecTv. This worked and got me back up and running once I installed it into my DirecTv cabling so I could have all three TV's in their own rooms working again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable performance in a less common application I don't subscribe to cable or satellite, I use an antenna which does a great job of providing the major networks and quite a bit of additional programing. Much in HD... for $0.00/month. The most common application for this splitter is in a satellite receiving system. This splitter has more bandwidth than needed for cable or antenna fed systems which would usually be served fully by splitters that pass frequencies from 5 to 1000 MHz. However, in addition to distributing TV antenna signal throughout the house, I also run Ethernet over my coax. One coax run goes out to my shop where I need a data connection as well. The Ethernet over coax modems send and receive over the coax using frequencies above the range used by broadcast television. A conventional splitter attenuates the modem signals, so I use this satellite grade splitter to provide a low loss path for the 1350MHz modem signal. Though I could establish a connection through the old 1000 MHz cable grade splitter, this splitter allows for full data rates and 100% up time of the data portion of my network. Other pluses, The case is extremely rugged and some may find the two grounding screws useful if they choose to make the splitter do double duty as both splitter and coax grounding block. The Home Depot price beats the other buying options I could find.
