Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be used outdoors?

Is this connector waterproof for outdoor use?
Asked by: bhata
This connector is not rated (on the package) for outdoor use. According to the cable you are using, and the environment, you may be able to seal it with tape or RTV-type silicone. Use your own judgment.

Is this what I want to extend my cable for an indoor antenna to my TV?

Asked by: Tom
Yes, that is what these are designed for. If you use all RG6 (18-gauge wire), these should work fine. Beware that smaller wires may not make good contact with all connectors so you may have to try a few different ones, or modify your cable.

Good product, reasonable price, that is, you don’t have to buy 100 for the same price. Used dielectric grease (CRC 3.3oz Technician Grade, 05113) to insure no corrosion. WIll get again when needed

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Part for the Price - Make Sure It Works in Your System Apparently these are repurposed bulkhead connectors as one threaded side is longer than the other. As with any mass-produced product, you may find defective units, or units that won't work in your application. I needed to extend an RG6 cable for an attic antenna and couple the attic cable to the one that goes to the television at the low-voltage point, so two connectors total. The one I put in the attic did not work. I checked it with an ohm meter and it looked okay and tried it with cables with variable results. With the smaller wire (about 20 - 22 gauge) Chinese cable, it wasn't making a good connection. I tried another connector from the pack, and it works fine. So beware you may have dimensional variations to deal with. Otherwise, these are good connectors and do the job they're intended to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These work great! This product does exact;y what it's supposed to do, which is connect coaxial cables with minimal signal loss. I bought them due to internet issues, replaced the splitter from the cable line with this and now no more internet problems. I would go into more detail but you would collapse from boredom. These work. Ignore the other review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Perfectly Made connecting two coaxial cables extremely easy. Ultimately a quick & easy solution for an unanticipated cable connection problem. I was concerned that using this type of connector might result in a weaker signal and therefore a reduction in picture quality. This was not the case. The picture quality was not affected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I tried to use this to extend a run of RG6 to my outdoor antenna. I temporarily used a splitter, but only received 11 channels. The straight connector should provide a better signal since the losses are supposed to be <0.25db instead of the 4db of the splitter. However, when I used these connectors instead, I received no channels. it's pretty bad that a straight connector had worse signal loss than a 3-way splitter.
