Answer:
It worked with my cable modem (Comcast service). But, I had to replace the old (and very beat-up) cable between my modem and the 90-degree connector with a new length of RG-6 to get acceptable bit-error rates.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for tight spaces! I used this so I could put a piece of furniture in front of my cable outlet without crushing the cord. Works great. September 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great I first thought this may work for my cable modem, and reading the 2 neg reviews here almost didn't get it. Luckily, I needed one for my tv anyways. Installed the one for the tv, and it works great. Having 2 in a pack I waited til an hour ago to install one ahead of the modem. It WORKS!!!!!!!!!!. YES, ACTUALLY WORKS AHEAD OF A CABLE MODEM. I don't know if it's blocking some freq that older modems use, but it works with CableOne at 465 Mhz to 483Mhz downstream and 279.73Mhz upstream. February 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works Well When Paired with Good Cables I found that this connector works well for both cable TV and data applications. But it appears sensitive to the cables attached to it. So if you are going to use it, make sure that you have attached a good cable of proper impedance (EG RG-6, which should be 75 ohms) between the connector and your appliance (IE TV or cable modem). I purchased this connector so that - like others - I could move my furniture closer to the wall containing the coax port. But after reading other reviews, I was a bit wary of the connector. Sure enough, I experienced a major modem performance degradation when I first installed it using my old cables, which worked fine without this 90-degree connector. So I did some experimentation. I tested a variety of connection configurations between my coax port and cable modem. I found that when using this connector, my cable modem's performance was very sensitive to the cable run between the connector and the modem. I'll skip the details. The bottom line is that when using this 90-degree connector you must have a good 75-ohm cable (EG a good RG-6 cable) between the connector and your cable modem if you want acceptable bit-error rates. Even an old (and presumably beat-up/kinked) cable that previously worked with your cable modem may not work when installed with this connector. My tech data: Motorola SBG6782-AC cable modem; Comcast service (nominal 567 MHz upstream). May 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked perfectly! Installed in seconds and I was able to move the furniture very close to the wall. March 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect solution Putting a 90 degree bend in your cable is a very bad idea. You need this to solve that problem. This little inexpensive device will save you lots of frustration down the road. Simple installation and it works perfectly. Now, the cabinet that my router is sitting upon can be moved close to the wall without damaging my cables. April 18, 2014
