Door is heavy and hits second dogs in head when one goes through now they are afraid of it so only my big dog will go in and out of it . had to buy the other one they sell with flap now all but one will go in and out of it so even though its a good product can not recommend it for people that have more than one dog.

Getting ready to replace this dog door AGAIN for the third time. Rubber between panels keep tearing, cant find a replacement so I end up replacing whole thing. Stuck with this door since the screw holes don't match up on different models. Home Depot personnel are NO help! (I have 3 small dogs)

Although designed for large dogs they last about a year. We are on our third one in four years. I bolted the first one back together and it lasted two years. The rubber that holds the sections together breaks.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kansas Great product, has withstood the test of time
I have had this dog door for 2 years and my 4 dogs love the door and the freedom it gives them. They range in size from 10 lbs to 70 lbs and range in age from 1 year to 12 years.
Installation was a bit hard for me because I am not very handy but once installed, the dogs quickly learned to use it. The only issue I have had is that my large 70 lb dog hits the door hard at times going in and out and has actually knocked the swinging portion of the door off of the bar that holds it. There are only 2 small end caps that hold it in place. Fixing this requires you to unscrew the frame and reassemble the bar and end caps then reassemble the frame. That said, this door has been used hundreds of times and has only come apart twice. The repair was only to reassemble, not replace parts due to anything breaking.
A couple times a year the wind will blow hard enough to swing the door open. This usually only happens during a storm and the dogs don't want to go out in the rain anyways. I just slide in the panel and lock it.
I don't usually review items but I feel that is product has withstood the test of time.

Someone else chose and put in this door for their puppy, but I love the puppy so much I said I would pick up the door on the way home. I didn't think about the cost, so when I saw the door, I liked it alot and understood more the cost, because apparently this version is a better upgrade (and I agree). The dog goes in and out of the flap which has a magnet at the bottom and sides so the flap is not left flopped open on either side. Then it has a lockout slide for the flap door so you can lock the doggie door down when you leave the house for long periods; cause if your back yard is like my friend's, it's virtually impossible to keep stray animals from invading your yard, let alone them having access to the inside of the home LOL - we did not go wrong with this purchase!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by us4 Good for one old dog, not for puppies
I bought 2 doors, one for me and one for a friend. I installed both and it was not very hard. One turned out to be smoke/tinted and the other clear. Wish I had know as I would have put the tinted one facing the sun. Anyway, my friend has big adult dog and his door is still in great shape. I on the other hand have 4 dogs and 3 of the 4 are puppies. I installed the door when the mom was pregnant. The now 9 month old puppies run through the door. They are in and out all day, so it gets lots of use. But after only 9 months and the door flap is falling apart. I have duck tape holding the panels together now and I see I can buy a replacement door for only $25. I do not need new panels, just the rubber "I" beams that hold the 3 flaps together. If I am forced to spend 1/3 the price of the door every 9 months, I am going to look for a better door.
