Long overdue acquisition- choice of color to match our door- It fits, works as promised, at the lowest price! All good-
Needed to modify the lower portion, which was an amazing option, but I had to:
A) Find out if it was possible
B) Do it without instructions
The folks at the 1-800 number were able to verify my theory that it was adjustable. Best to let folks know the bottom step-over can be changed by swapping parts from below to above the door- otherwise some will return the door thinking it is too high to step over-
ITS ADJUSTABLE! YAY!
Cat learned it 30 seconds. The Sheltie, one day. The Chihuahua... ;' P is a dork.

This product is only made from 1/2 inch thick extruded aluminum pieces and while it is solidly built, it does not fit well into our patio door (1 1/2 inches thick). In order to get a secure fit, I had to take 2x4 lumber, cut a 1/2 inch grove in it and basically make a frame for the doggie door insert - only then does it securely fit in the patio door.
The plastic flap which is the doggie door is too light and the slightest breeze causes it to blow open letting the warm air from the house out. I would only use this product in a temperate climate otherwise it will be like an open window in colder areas. We taped quarters to the bottom of the flap to help keep it from being blown open.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kathyspogo This is a quality product, well made, and easy to install.
My wife and I found this to be the ideal product for our West Highland White Terrier, Shadow. He has been always wanting us to let him out on our back deck, through our sliding glass door. We discussed a pet door, then started shopping. This door was far better priced than in a local Home Depot store (weird). It is just what Shadow needed, and it's made it nice for him to come and go out on our deck and into his pen area, on his own timeline. He likes the independence, and enjoys running out when he hears a strange noise or sees something of interest (birds, wildlife).

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by jhozy This product is a great concept.
This product is a great concept, but does not quite win us over. The directions were awful and barely even anything to go by. Needs better pictures. Our sliding glass door does not fit flush against the doggy door so we had to wedge a piece of lumber behind the sliding door to get it to stay and now we can't use that sliding glass door, but the dog can. There was no troubleshooting whatso ever and we looked online for videos and all theirs went right in with no gaps so they did not address it either. My dog is at least happy.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WJS1962 Excellent product, but wind will easily lift flap
Shipped quickly, easy to install, works as advertised. It's energy inefficient, but we didn't want to pay the price of the more-energy-efficient model. Regardless, the dog flap magnets are a bit light, and it doesn't take much of a breeze to lift the flap. Because we are in a cold-weather climate (Colorado), we feel the need to insert the flap cover at night to minimize energy losses. This requires us to get up in the morning with the dog to remove the flap cover. One of the reasons for getting this was so we would NOT have to get up in the morning to let the dog out. Perhaps stronger magnets would remedy the problem. The dog would recognize it needs to push harder to get through, in my opinion. (I may be able to jerry-rig this myself, I just haven't gotten around to it.)

We have had this installed for a couple of weeks now, and it is a very nice addition to our patio door. I do not think a 90 pound dog will find it very easy to use, though. I have a 60# dog and he goes through it effortlessly. Not too difficult to install, but you may need some additional weatherstripping for your specific application. Securing it will be a small challenge, but most anyone with normal brain power shouldn't find it that difficult to do.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spanky Best thing we ever bought!
We have three dogs , 3 sizes one is 17 years old and blind they all three love this door. It has stopped the morning suprises. I did remove the bottem peice by unscrewing both sides sliding down the next piece and the doggy door slide one piece back on then doggy door part then bottem piece. And could not get the screws back into place but managed to get two in. What ever you do do not touch the glass part or unscrew the screw near the glass. Factory guy told me not to do this but I had to for blind dog to lower threshold. You can also special order it lowed from the factory.I used extra winter stripping and put a rubber gurad where slideing door leaves a draft. Also had to wedge a peice of wood to keep slideing door closed, the lock would not work because we have ceramic tile and did not want to screw into it.

This adjustable patio dog door was just what I was looking for. I did not want to permanently install a dog door so this door was ideal and it was so easy to put in. I did read a rewiew prior to purchasing this door that the rise was too high for this person's dog. It was too high for mine as well, but I figured out an easy fix to that problem and both of my dogs use the dog door with ease. The bronze color matched my sliding door frame perfectly and it is visually appealing.
