I bought the through wall dog door kit to match the same brand dog door. It was supposed to be the same size. When I opened the kit and assembled it according to the instructions, it was 3 inches to tall, the width was too narrow. The corners of the kit when assembled are round and do not fit the square corner dog door. I called the number for assistance and they said to cut and glue it. I wanted the kit so I did not have to do a bunch more modifications. I returned it to the store. Not worth the money or hassle.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by nakism Very hard to install & bolts wrong size and broke during installation
This dog door was incredibly hard to install. I started by first getting all the recommended tools for the job... and I'm relatively experienced with do - it - yourself type jobs and have installed a smaller one of these in the past with no problems. The bolts that ship with the unit are way to long. The insert is exactly the correct size out of the box. I'm still wondering why they ship far oversized bolts that are just one more problem... needed to bolt cut and tap & die them to make them usable. Then 2 of the bolts just snapped off while screwing them in! What a joke! The diameters should be increased to avoid a weakness problem like this. Over all, what looks like a quick 30 minute job turned into 6 hours and I still have 2 missing bolts out of 8 since they broke off.. The product looks and works well other than problems described above and medium wind breezes do push both flaps open... it seems like the magnets are way too weak as well.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mojo What an adventure - and costly one at that
Screws had to be trimmed - none were same size. Had General Contractor install it and he is highly professional, and it took him twice the amount of time he had anticipated. We were replacing a Medium size wall door with the Super Large. I mistakenly first ordered the pet door to be installed in a door, so choose to order the wall installation kit instead of returning and ordering the right product. Not sure why but doing it this way saved us $60! We ended up having to use some of the screws from the prior pet door, and also the kit had to be trimmed down to fit. In the end, we are happy, but it was a nightmare to get installed.

For some reason the instructions did not seem to make sense to me or my contractor. When we measured and cut it to fit-it then did not. Ended up having sheet metal made to fit the opening instead. For me this ended up being a waste of money.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Aaron in wall kit for ruff weather pet door
Wall kit is not very well made, but you have no other choice but to buy it if you're installing it in a wall. And it's 50 bucks! They should make a better kit. I had to silicone mine in place because it wouldn't stay were it's supposed to!

It worked fine. Just seems ridiculous that a plastic rectangle and a few long screws would cost $50.

This product worked well with Ruff Weather Door, we installed it through the drywall and exterior house, stucco wall, and it worked perfect. Made of plastic that had preforations in it to custom fit it to your wall thickness. Gives it a clean finish, the only thing I would say that is a little negative, I thought it was priced a little high for what it actually is, but it worked perfect.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Denise Too small of a fit for Super Large Ruff Weather Plastic Frame Door
The item is good quality but it is too small for the doggie door it is suppose to go with. The two clear doors on the Super Large Ruff Weather Plastic Frame Door keep getting caught on this liner. So my air conditioning was going outside all the time. Once I removed this liner the doggie doors now swing close with ease.
