This is a well made and theoretically easy to install pet door. Unfortunately, although the sliding door I was putting it in was the minimum advertised size, it could not get in the opening without extensive disassembly, cutting (hacksaw) and reassembly. After a couple hours work, it slipped right in and has worked as intended ever since

We love this door, now our dog can go in and out, with out use having to let her out. It look like it was installed that way right from when the sliding door was put in. Our dog loves it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AJ Easy to install
I like to keep the cat's litter box on the balcony, and this pet door allows my cat to go in and out on his own to do his business. The installation was ridiculously easy: I just opened my sliding glass door and placed the pet door panel in place. The top of the panel is adjustable to allow for different door heights (within a few inches), and there is a spring that pushes up to expand the panel to fit your door height.
The door comes with two different types of weatherstripping: one to seal any gap on the side of the pet door, and another to fill the gap between the two glass panels of your now-partially-open sliding glass door. Since they only give you enough weatherstripping to line one side of the pet door, I found it necessary to buy some more weatherstripping to line the other side in order to keep the cold out.
Only problem is I don't have a way to lock the sliding glass door anymore. This is not a problem for me because I live on the second floor and I'm not worried about the possibility of a burglar entering through the balcony. If you are worried about security, you should cut a wooden dowel of the right length to prevent someone from being able to open the sliding glass door from the outside. I think the pet door came with a door stopper that you can install to lock the sliding glass door in place. I didn't use this piece because I didn't want to install anything permanently in my rental apartment.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SeattleCatOwner Good cat door for sure.
Bought this for my cat. Door looks good but too much condensation when it is cold outside. My patio glass doesn't get condensation but this one always have condensation in the Seattle weather in November and I guess it will continue till Spring.
The weather strip is a joke. I bought the thick weather strip from home depot and use that instead.
I had to saw off the top 2 inches with a hacksaw to fit my patio. Took about 20mins and it fits perfectly.
I cut a piece of wood to put at the base of the patio door to use as a security bar. Works wonder.
Training the cat to use this door was a bit harder than installing it. Took my cat 2 weeks of training to get use to it.
If you have a fatter cat, don't buy this as it will be a tight fit for your cat. My cousin's cat got stuck midway going out. Buy a bigger one. Thanks all for reading.

Great price, good quality, easy to install. Only took cat about 5 days to be totally comfy with it. It IS quite a small opening (5x7"), so if Ginger gets any fatter, she'll be hard-pressed to fit through the opening. You might want to get the medium, even for a cat or small dog, just to be sure.

Very fast shipping. Very easy to install. The kitty adapted to it immediately and it will work as she grows. What a difference this makes.

I got the small dog door because my cat is a little fat and she fits perfectly, door works great and is easily removable when it needs to be. Just need to purchase thicker weather strip because the one they give you is too thin

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by kdm1492 cold air sealing problem
SIrs, This pet door was acceptable, with one very serious drawback. When the pet door was installed it created an area at the opposite end of the sliding door that allows COLD air to flow into the home. I contacted the Home Depot in Lansing Michigan about the problem. They had no idea what the fix was, and said they would contact the company and solve the problem. They have never returned their findings. I have cobbled it up with some stick on weather strip. However, this is not working well because as the door is opened after several time the weather strip adhesive begins to NOT STICK.. Hopefully, I am contacted with a solution to the problem before winter is over
