Had to have professionals installed but looks great. Kitties didn't like double door at first but after one day they have no problem going in and out. Much better then the one door we had before.

One of the best features on this product is the dual door flaps, they help insulate better than a single flap dog door. Installation is fairly straightforward, this kit out of the box is good for a thicker door but if you're installing in a standard 2" x 4" framed wall you will need the extender kit (sold separately).
The only issue with using the extender kit is you will likely end up with bolts that do not fit. The manufacturer can't possibly meet every scenario, so they provide bolts for thinner installations in the main kit and then very long bolts in the extender kit. I found that a traditional 2" x 4" wall with sheetrock and siding or stucco is too thick for the main kit bolts and the extender kit bolts are too long. But again, there's no magic pill for the manufacturer to offer that would fit all scenarios.
All in all, solid product and I would recommend it despite being priced a little higher than molded plastic probably should be.

Love this Ruff Weather door. I did a through the wall install which requires the wall install kit which is just the tunnel part that goes between the inside and outside halves. If you do a door install you don't need the wall kit and install is easier. Double flaps keep cold air out and my dog quickly got use to using the double flap (we had a sliding door dog door with one flap that let cold air and bugs in very easy)
The Ruff Weather double flap is the way to go, best one out there. I did install myself and it was pretty straight forward, good instructions. I had to cut through our new vinyl siding but it can easily be repaired if we decide to remove the door someday. Pics attached.

The pet door installed easily. Works great and is sturdy. I like that it has two swinging inserts as it keeps the cold out in the winter and heat in the summer. Great door all around. My Boston Terrier used it right away.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bucky Really does a great job. One of my 3 cats learned how to use it in 10 minutes. The other two a few days.
Living in rural Minnesota it gets cold. This keeps my office heat inside.
My cats took a little longer to figure out that they can go in as well as out through the door.
Read instructions well and have one helper for alignment as you need to get this right.
Since my office is located in an outbuilding I intend to install a second door on the exterior wall of the outbuilding so that the cats will not ever have a problem getting in or out.
This door is inside the building where it allows the cats to get in the office once they are in the outbuilding. This is why I will install another door to get into the outbuilding.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Great door - we have tricks that made it even better!
Our Yorkie, Cockapoo and cats love to come and go as they please and we LOVE not needing to go to the door over and over. :) We have small animals but bought the medium size because you never know what size your next pooch will be. So, we've created a few tricks to keep us all happy.
- To accommodate our 3.5 lb yorkie who is too weak to open and close the heavy manufacturer plastic flap, we have two tricks. 1) replace the flap w/ plastic sheeting or the plastic used for report covers, weighting the bottom w/ binder clips 2) roll up the original plastic door and clip it up with binder clips.
- Our next trick was to prevent flies from entering: add a screen door! We cut window screen to size then binder clipped it on at the top, and weighting it at the bottom w/ the same binder clips. It's worked month after month. AND better yet, to keep ALL the flies out, place a small fan just inside and to the side of the doggy door opening, blowing the air outside through the opening, and wala! Flies can't fly in against the wind.
- Next trick: keeping the outer door half opened for less heat/cold air exchange. The answer? Binder clips again! Just slide open the door to the height of your small animal, clip the side of the door above the frame so when the door falls down it stops where the binder clip hits the frame. Tada!
