Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pavel OK if you have another patio door
Note this Pet Patio Door will limit your door exit width by 1/3, and the patio door won't slide into the pet door as good as into the original door frame.
If you have just one patio door, better to have a professional to install a rectangular pet door into the cut of the stationary glass door.
Installation took about 4 hours, plus a trip to Home Depot for the lock catch.
I taught my cat to use it in the evening, she seems a bit reluctant but does go through.
1. Watch the video.
2. I did not use spacers to align the top "H" section. Instead I just cut it to have that 5/16" gap (step #2 of the manual).
3. What I did use a white spacer for was to get the pet door parallel (plumb) with the original door (my door frame appeared to be not completely rectangular).
4. The hardest part was to install the door lock catch. The original was 1 1/2" wide, and the pet door
can accommodate up to 1 1/16" wide. The provided black plastic locks did not fit. I found a "Patio door keeper" part E-2125 in Home Depot, which did fit for my lock.
I had to put the remaining white wide spacer (cut in two) and the black spacers, between the lock catch and the door seal extension, for my door lock to be able to catch.
5. After you snap in door seal extrusions to the door seal extension (step #8 in the manual)
you won't be able to remove them, so do that as the last step. May need to adjust lock catch spacers after.

I didn't attach it the way it was supposed to be - to the sliding door. Instead I revamped and attached it to the screen door. I can still lock the inside sliding door as usual and also have the option to slide the glass door shut it when I don't want the doggie door accessible. Works as I want it to. Will move it to another door for the winter months.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfied49 Works great
It was a lot harder to install than I expected, but once installed, it works very well. My dog learned how to use it right away and shoots in and out when ever he wants to.

I did not install it myself so I am not sure how easy it was but it's in and works and looks great. I am happy with the purchase.

Took me 30 minutes to install (mostly to make careful final cuts and get right number of spacers for lock)

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Paige Great Product, But A Challenge to Install
Ideal Pet is falling down when it comes to installation. With all the reviews about installation difficulties and my own experience, you'd think they'd remedy this by now. My skilled contractor who's done all sorts of complicated projects around here took hours to install this. The instructions are not clear and the included hardware isn't right. One example is the screws were too short. He had to use his own screws. Also I bought a higher model, yet the thing that holds the sliding door lock is plastic, not metal.
Once you get past the installation challenges, it's a great product. My cats love to go on the balcony to enjoy the fresh air and breezes, and the sights, smells, and sounds of the outdoors. I'm so happy I can provide this for them. Definitely worth the installation challenge. If you're not 100% handy, however, I recommend hiring someone very good to install it.

This dog door is so much nicer than ones I have previously owned. I love that it was configured to have seals around it to prevent the air from blowing in around the door. Also, it is great that I can lock the door.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by olderbutwiser Good, but not perfect
The installation instructions were generally very good, but I had to improvise a couple of details to make it fit just right.. The door latch doesn't lock completely, but well enough to lock the door.
