FOR AN ETHERNET CONNECTION PLUG, WHATS THE BEST ENDS TO USE?

I NEED TO MAKE MY OWN ETHERNET CORD TO REACH WHERE I NEED IT, I HAVE SOME CAT 5 TO USE UP, JUST NEVER MADE THAT KIND OF CORD BEFORE.
