I don't use them often, but they will definitely get you out of some sticky situations. Wires cut too short, brittle insulation, weak old wires that might not stand up to twisting with a wire nut, and so on. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice for DYI Added lights to woodshop/garage. I usually hire this out after several sad electrical fires with previous attempts at playing electrician, but hardheaded ness prevailed. This made the connection soooo easy. A little pricey but I am not using thousands, just a few in place of wire nuts. Leaves more room in the electric box and very simple to use. Bottom line I have lights and not a fire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product I am certified electrician and these Splice-line Wire Connectors are awesome ). I often come into older homes and exisiting wires are not long enough to meet code or strip! Remember NEC states there must be six inches of wire in any electrical box. These connectors would make any job easier if you need to make exisiting wires longer. I keep these standard equipment on my work truck. Ideal thanks for making an great product, and trades. Before these connectors was only sold in electical supply stores. I'm so glad Home Depot sells them. I buy an box every three weeks. Keep them Stock Home Depot in all stores!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More compact & faster than a nut Found these to be more compact, faster installation & more secure than a wire nut. Used for solid core wire though they appear to work with stranded as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Way to Butt Splice Solid Wire If you need to extend 12 - 20 AWG solid or 12 - 16 AWG stranded wire I highly recommend using the Spliceline. Quick and easy (no crimping) and super clean looking. Impressed my state electrical inspector after I messed up connecting my neutral wires to the ground buss in a sub-panel and needed to add a few inches to 20 wires to reach the neutral buss. I've used crimp type butt connectors for years on stranded wire but did not feel comfortable using them on solid wire when none of the manufacturers recommended that application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy As an electrician, I use these handy little butt splices to extend wiring in device boxes that I'll come across that is too short to meet code requirements, and sometimes to repair wires in a switch or receptacle box that was damaged during the drywall installation. They can be much easier to install in these instances than a standard wire nut, and they take up very little space in the box. Packaging states that they can be used on both solid and stranded wires, but I've used them only for solid thus far. UL-listed, and made in the USA!
