Answer:
As a general rule we do not recommend radiant heat under vinyl flooring. However with some of the newer materials on the market it may be possible. I would contact a stain master dealer and ask if yours can be used with radiant heat without voiding the warranty. It's also worth noting that there are some thermostats available that have a floor sensor which can be set to keep a maximum temperature below Read More

How much area should be covered in a pass-through, like an enclosed breezeway? How much of the floor should be covered in a transient space for the mats to be effective?

Answer:
As a general rule 80% of the surface area should be covered. In your breezeway it depends on what your goal is. Are you attempting to make it a three season room? Just keep moisture off the floor? Other factors come into play,is it insulated, what is the ceiling height, amount of windows, sq. ft., etc. However the 80% rule would still apply. I hope this helped?

Answer:
Yes, but if you haven't already bought a Suntouch thermostat I would recommend the OJ Electronics model UDG-4999 programmable or the UTN-4991 which is non-programmable depending on your needs. Both of these are available through Home Depot on-line and come with a floor sensor.
