Customer Questions & Answers

is the height adjustable?

Asked by: slim
You can adjust the screw-in legs. I believe this will add up to 2 inches. You don't want to extend the legs more since the stool will become unstable.

how can i get replacement pins for the legs on this chair?

one of the pins broke that goes into the legs of the chair how do I get replacement for this?
Asked by: sis
You should write an email to: info@jobar.com, and give them the model number [starts with JBxxxx, which you can find on the box it came in]. They will send you replacement pins. I asked for two since one broke and I wanted a spare and they mailed them to me. No extra cost and no problems.

Home Depot will not allow edits to previous reviews so I am writing this as an edit to the the review posted previously by Babs. Yes there was difficulty in assembly and one pin broke. So I wrote to info@jobar.com, with the model number taken off the box it came in [JB5596]. I asked for extra pins and they mailed them to me quickly at no cost. We've used the stool for a couple of weeks now and it is holding up well. I would have given it 5 stars except that the assembly was not easy.

It has a plastic lock to keep it in place but it doesn't stay that well. I guess that's why they call it a "swivel" stool. It has rubber feet and seems pretty sturdy. The inside of the legs have plastic criss-cross so it makes it harder to clean. I don't mind it that much since it's our guest shower and doesn't get used often.

I would have rated this higher except for one main flaw. The product comes with three split-end plastic pegs that you need to push in to lock the three legs into the lower shelf ring. The problem is that the holes do not line up well and the pegs are very difficult to insert to lock into place. One peg went in well, but the other two did not. I had to use a Phillips head screw driver to line up the holes but the holes go out of alignment easily once you remove the screw driver and you are forced to manipulate the stool, the shelf, and the legs to align the holes. So I used a small wood block to insert the pegs since the palms of my hand hurt in trying to forcibly insert the pegs. These pegs should be a screw-in type, not a plug-in type. Unfortunately, on one peg, the split end broke in half. There is no phone number for the manufacturer so you cannot get replacement pegs, so one leg is unsecured. Also, the plastic bolt that stops the swivel does not lock well. It keeps popping off but that's okay since it doesn't swivel easily once you are sitting on it.

The stool is very sturdy, great looking, and works just fine in the shower. We never were able to put the plugs into the legs as instructed, but see no use for them anyway for what we use it for. It is very sturdy and doesn't wobble at all or feel unstable. I would buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works The shower stool is a little bit larger than I was expecting, but it works perfectly. Although I'm a little confused, when I ordered the stool online the description stated the weight limit to be up to 400lbs, but when I received the stool the box said 300lbs. Not sure which is the correct weight limit. When I ordered the stool I was over 350, but now I'm 340. So far no problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Eh...I guess it does what it says My impression after my first use was that it will make an excellent plant stand...all plastic, rotating top, could almost be considered decorative. It got easier after subsequent uses. It is a little tall, even at it's lowest height (I'm only 5'4"), but it's convenient to be able to turn around. It does have only 3 legs, so leaning too far in any direction can cause it to tip. Be careful using it, if you don't have good balance.
