I bought this on-line so did not see the actual product prior to purchase. The picture makes it look as though the chrome cover at the top covers the rail and workings to give a clean look. Unfortunately it doesn't so you can see the plastic fittings. Other than that I really like the door. It is heavy but very smooth and quite.

instructions were confusing in a couple places....probably due to
Chinese translation to English by Chinese.

overall the door is excellent. i had a professional installer to handle the installation and seems like it was all fairly simple to do. here is the only problem: i got 4 of these doors to be used on 2 different closets. 3 of the doors came with a small handle that is being installed with a two sided tape (seems a bit low quality if you ask me. makes more sense if i could attach the handle / knob with some screw or something). and the 4th door came without anything. so now i will need to go to home depot, and hope they will make this right somehow...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shawn Very mirror doors !
I had a contractor install some bi fold mirror doors and right away had problems with them. They were very cheap feeling and low quality. I insisted he swap them out. He told me to order the ones I wanted and he would deduct it off of my bill. Well I found these and was a little hesitant, due to the freight charges online. Once they came in, I realized why. These have some serious weigh to them and are very well designed. I am overly happy with this product and glad I went with them. On top of the great design and quality, they are also very nice looking and smooth operating.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jergar123 Stay away from this style of door
I purchased this style door in fall of 2014 with no problems. During the winter I noticed that the doors were starting to bow (curve) outwards. This made it difficult to open and just looked funny. Before I could get around to replacing them in spring they had stopped bowing, so I thought it was a temporary problem. This winter the bowing began again. Apparently it is from the radiator heat generated, thus the problem will continue every winter. Home Depot only offers a 90 return policy, so after that you have to deal with the problem on your own. The company has a lifetime warranty, but will only give you the same doors. So be warned...

My negative feedback is solely because the door is not actually 80" as described online. It's really just over 78". My carpenter had to place a 2" filler in the door frame them drywall/paint to match the wall. I kept the door because it is VERY solid and the beveled edges are lovely, it just took more work than expected to install.

The Impact Plus 36”x80” beveled edge solid core closet bi-fold door is of superior quality. This is a beautiful, solid, bi-fold closet door that will make your room look great. We have it in our bedroom closet to use as a dressing mirror. The door is strong and as a result heavy but it operates very smoothly. Installing is a snap except for the weight. I did it alone but a helper would be advisable. I own 3 other custom bi-fold doors from the same company and I am very happy with them.
These doors are designed for a finished opening with a floor saddle but if you want a standard size and not custom bi-fold door a couple things to keep in mind. The finished width is standard to all bi-fold, 36” doors but the height is not. They include a saddle for the floor, which I do not like. I like the clean look of my floors sweeping into the closet. To accomplish this I had to add a flat, 2x4 header, which added 1.5 inches to my finished opening. That made it a clean tight fit. I was in a hurry to get my new room finished and painted so I made my closet door finished opening of 81”x36” and that is why I had to add the 1.5” header. I wish I didn’t but when you are in a hurry sometimes you pay the price.
The floor needs to move because it is a floating cork floor so they included a bottom jamb hinge, instead of a floor mount hinge. (You need to call the manufacture for this). This hinge transferred some of the weight to the wall and not all on the floor to allow the floor to move in theory.
Custom measurements add about $100 to the price but worth it if need be. The floor saddle is standard on all but you must tell them when ordering if you do not want it on custom orders.
The only problem I had with one of my older doors from this manufacture is the top plastic slide guide went bad. I called them and they sent me a new one for free right away. From now on when my wife and I open the door we don’t just jerk the door open with an indiscriminate pull. Just pull the door open in the same plane that it opens- right or left. Do not jerk it towards your which transfers all the force to the top plastic roller guide and eventually wears it out.
We love these doors, the beveled edge adds a classy look. Note in the photo there are two types of closet doors. The 36” pine door cost about $60 less and do not operate nearly as smoothly but we didn’t want mirrors facing our bed.
