What I need to do to get my door adjust is missing 2 1/2 in from bottom or top ????

the panel its 77 1/2 in and my door its 80 in what can I do to fix it?
Asked by: Honeybee
The door does not need to be fixed. That is the correct panel height. If you read the second bullet on the product it lets you know the actual panel for an 80" tall door is 77 1/2". To fit into an 80" opening there needs to be space for the top track as well as the bottom saddle. If you look at the additional product photos you can see the drawings of both the top and bottom track.

Customer Reviews

72 in. x 80 in. Beveled Edge Backed Mirror Aluminum Frame Interior Closet Sliding Door with Chrome Trim is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product is just Awesome! As a contractor, this is the best mirrored door that I have installed. I decided to write this review because when I decided to purchase I read a review complaining about the product having blue handles. That is simply not true. The handles come with a plastic sticker like protective coating that is blue in color so you know to remove it after install. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking for a mirrored closet door system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not too shabby! Nothing bad to say about this product at all. Installed suprisingly easy, adjusted easily, and looks great! We may get another one for another bedroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too soon to tell Too soon to tell overall quality over time, but they are excellent so far (1 week). Had them installed as part of a remodel, so I can't rate that factor. I replaced a previous set, and these are nicer. Really opens up an area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased This door is beautiful, really makes my bedroom more glamorous. My daughter liked it so much she's getting one for her home. My contractor had no problem with installation. Price was right, got it with a 15% discount sale. Would highly recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Quality/Poor Quality Control While the doors are nice and seem to function well (so far), it was a very frustrating experience. I ordered the product on-line. My contractor opened the factory shrink-wrapped unit in my presence. There were no instructions, no hardware, and no mirrored handles as shown in the picture. In addition, one of the bottom wheels was jammed and not turning. The package contained only two doors and upper and lower rails. Home Depot tried to rectify the problem by calling the vendor. (As an aside, the North Wales store needs to update their phone system/procedure for customers with problems since I was initially on hold, transferred around several times to an expediter, then cut-off). I was asked what was missing . . . ummm . . . hard to know since I had no instructions, thus, no parts list!! Home Depot gave me 3 options: #1 - Return the entire unit to the store where they would reorder it online at a 10% discount (and I'd have to wait 2-3 weeks for shipment). Option #2 - I would be sent an e-gift card for the amount of missing parts which I could then take with me to the store to pick up the parts that day (if they had them--and of course, they did not have a wheel). Option #3 - vendor would ship missing parts overnight. While weighing these options, Home Depot was able to email me the installation instructions. None of these 3 options were helpful in that I had a contractor at my house that day to install doors, and carpeting coming the next day. Neither Home Depot nor Custom Doors and Mirrors cares a whit about that money lost. My contractor was able to get the wheel unjammed (a screw from the wheel had fallen out and wedged itself somewhere within the assembly) and put up the doors using his own hardware. As it turned out, only screws and the handles were missing. I did not settle for any of the options I was given, but instead asked to be sent up the chain of command. For the sheer inconvenience of it all coupled with my cost associated with paying a contractor for time wasted, I insisted on a discount WITHOUT returning the door and reordering (In my mind, for the amount of discount I would get, this option is a total waste of time and money for everyone involved!! How is this not recognized??). I also indicated that 10% (or $33) was not acceptable. 15% was the maximum they would give me, so I did get $54 credit to my credit card from Home Depot. The vendor, Custom Doors and Mirrors, did try to call me. When I returned the call, they wanted to know exactly what was missing (at this point, it was only the handles, since my contractors was able to resolve on his own). They said they would send them via regular mail (not overnight!). There was no "so sorry for the inconvenience" not even a simple "sorry". Very ironic that THEY seemed irritated with me. In fact when they confirmed my shipping address, they ended the call with OK, and hung up!! Really??? Not goodbye? No such thing as customer service for them. Home Depot was stuck in the middle, so I can't fault them for the product or lack of proper customer treatment, but I won't purchase anything from this vendor again. Bottom line: 1. Always read reviews. 2. Always open your orders and check for completeness before lining up your contractors or next steps. 3. When you do experience a problem, don't yell, scream, or curse, just insist on what YOU want to rectify the situation. 4. When you do get good customer service, remember to commend them for it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BOTTOM RAIL - CAUTION Very annoyed to find out that these are BOTTOM rail doors, NOTHING in the specs or description indicates this is a bottom rail. Additionally, the online installation instructions are for folding doors, not sliding. Very surprised considering the amount of money I spent to refinish the hardwood floor in this bedroom to now be expected to drill holes and place an aluminum frame on the floor. Also, getting seriously tired of the manufacturers that toss in a poor, overly photocopied set of instructions - the online version is just as bad AND not for sliding!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad Closet Doors The handles shown in the picture are misleading. You actually have to stick them on. The screws they provide are too short my husband had to use longer screws. They look alot nicer than the old doors & over all we are happy with them. Pretty easy to install.
