Customer Questions & Answers

Is this unit Energy Star certified or not?

The specifications indicate this unit is NOT Energy Star certified, but the picture on your website clearly shows the Energy Star logo on the lower right corner of the front bezel.
Asked by: HappyJack
Ezbrad0608, Energy Star Rated is not the same as Energy Star certified. The specifications state that the AC unit is NOT Energy Star certified. That's why I asked - the picture of the Energy Star logo and conflicting information on the page is confusing.

Why can this unit not be mounted in a wall?

My wall is only 8 inches thick, the hole is much larger than the unit, so neither the sides or top would be prevented from receiving outside air.
Asked by: CRMinLA
This unit comes as a case+AC model; the AC unit slides into a metal case. To mount in a conventional window, the instructions provide that you must first remove the AC unit from the case before attaching the various mounting pieces or screw mounts. So, if you can - (a) sufficiently and safely mount the case to support the weight of the entire unit , and - (b) assure that the case is level, and - (c) the case is well above ground level (so ground water cannot enter the case in the event of a heavy rain, and - (d) the mounted unit is connected to the proper wall plug , and - (e) properly fill in the excess space in the opening with plywood and insulation you should be able to safely use this unit as a through-the-wall air conditioner. The product's description should be made clear that this unit can be used as a through-the-wall air mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my best buy this season i was really surprised with the quality of this product, as i was at first reluctant to buy this one because its a new company on the market, but they got me hooked as a fan, bought it 3 month ago, it installed easily and has been doing its job cooling powerfully my entire work room since then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like it, very quiet I'm using this in the bedroom. It runs quiet enough that I can watch TV without any problem while it is running. I keep it in energy saver mode and it runs all day, keeping the room cool without a problem. The only issue I had was the install was a bit of a hassle but once the install is done it's all good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Draws too many amps - more than the 12 amps stated I replaced an old LG unit with this one because Home Depot wouldn't ship the LG's. The LG had the same amp rating on cooling, so I thought this would be a good replacement, even though I didn't know anything about the manufacturer. I have it on a 20amp breaker with only a couple of very low amp items. I was surprised that after light running of the unit, it started popping the breaker after 2 to 3 hrs continuous use. I replaced the breaker, but that didn't help. Now I have this no-name unit I can't use, and the TX heat is on the way....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good features but not so quiet The unit was slightly dented along the support rails inside the metal casing. This made it difficult to remove the operating unit from the outer casing. The extra packing with taped on layers of cardboard was not enough to protect it well during shipment. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it until I found out whether it would perform well. 1. It does cool well and the thermostat seems to perform properly. The remote control in also the remote thermostat which is helpful for larger areas. 2. The instructions were OK in the installation but there were two sets of dimensions listed and there was no identification as to which unit was this one. 3. The operating instructions were not well presented nor easily understood. A lot of gaps in trying to explain how to operate the unit and the remote. 4. The sound levels are stated as 52-53 db. Don't believe it. I measured the sound levels at 4 ft from the unit inside and outside. I found levels at 62-69 db. Not so quiet. 5. Generally, the fit of parts around the grill and controls are not well finished but after wrestling with them for awhile they finally snapped into place. 6. It does cool well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only blows hot air We bought this air conditioner in May, 2105. It only blew hot air on the coolest setting. So we contacted the company. After several weeks, the company finally sent a repairman. This repairman claimed to have fixed the thermostat. That was last week. It is now the middle of August, and this unit still only blows hot air.
