Customer Questions & Answers

Replacing quiet collar baffle for disposer. How do I remove the old collar without removing whole disposer? I bought new collar at HD, but NO Directio

Asked by: Anonymous
Put your fingers through the hole and simply pull it out from the top. Don't worry about the safety issue. The "blades" are right at the bottom of the food "cup" several inches below the bottom edge of the Collar. Good grief, if we don't clean ours weekly, the sink area stinks!! Buy a stiff brush and thoroughly clean all traces of now rotted foodstuffs out of the creases and replace. Our unit is 7 yrs old and works like a champ as long as you only put the proper foodstuffs into it to begin with.

Well, it didn't work for me. The water wouldn't drain when I put it in. It seems to be too big.

Evolution Antimicrobial Quiet Collar Sink Baffle for Evolution Garbage Disposals is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 245.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from new replacement is not the same we did our kitchen remodel about 4 years ago and the collar that came with the disposal we excellent. it was sturdy and quiet. food needed to be pushed down, but that was easy to live with because while food didn't automatically drain into the disposal, neither did our silverware! eventually the time came to replace it and the new QCB-AM that's being sold everywhere is awful. it doesn't keep the noise down and the lightest bit of food just slides right down, along with our silverware and anything else small enough to fit. with kids, we have tons of little items that are constantly getting mauled in that thing. i've tried ordering replacements from various places and the photo that shows up on the list is what i had before, but the product that shows up at my door is the one shown on this review page. PLEASE bring back the sturdy one or at least put out both of them as options for people who like the flimsy noisy one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please offer the stronger baffle for purchase. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, where can I purchase the stronger, more stout material) Quiet Collar Sink Baffle? This one is way too flimsy. Please offer stronger baffle as an option. I heard folks complained about the stronger baffle because they had to push food down . . . but we have a septic system, we pour everything through a strainer first and the stout one kept everything from utensils from larger pieces of food.from falling down into the disposal. Your disposals are A+, but the baffle is not good quality, nor is it practical. If there are any more of the stronger baffles, for sale please let me know - I'll buy 12.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Food must be forced down We built a new house and selected the InSinkErator 1100 pro to be installed in the sink. It has a powerful motor and was told that it was very quiet. True on both accounts. Except food will not go down the drain. It must be forced. Even the water is slow going down. The disposal was professionally installed with the collar correctly fitted. There is no other collar option as a replacement. Surly the engineers who designed this actually tried it before going to market, but apparently not. I would not recommend this disposal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has this problem finally been fixed been fixed? I've experienced exactly the same no-drain problem with my InSinkErator for years. Yesterday I installed the baffle shown above, and it works perfectly. I do notice there are other original-equipment parts out there with a different design and exactly the same name. Maybe the company has finally updated the part, or maybe it's just sloppy about ID'ing its baffles. The one I have is called a "Quiet Collar Sink Baffle." Its package describes the part as an "E606 Accessory" and as a "QCB-AM" (see attached scan). The baffle itself is made of thin and extremely flexible rubber (unlike the much more rigid previous baffle), and allows waste (and water) through easily, as it should.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I am not impressed with this product Lots of issues with this product! It is hard to put into place, does not let water flow through easily and I have to push even the smallest amounts of food through. It gets disgusting buildup on the underside that I have to clean every couple of days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is it installed upside down ? First of all fire Jerica........Even if she is a computer automated response. Water goes down slowly? Maybe the baffle Is upside down. 1. Lift out baffle using two fingers. 2. Turn baffle over. 3. Replace. Takes about 2 seconds

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have been looking for the model of the Quiet Collar Sink Baffle that came with my disposer Is there a place that the older version of the Sink Baffle can be ordered? I have been to two different stores and the product is flimsy and of poorer quality than the original which is 11 years old. It needs to be replaced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't allow food or water by Like others have said water or food won't get by. I have to use a fork, or my fingers to get food past it, which I don't feel is very safe.
