Answer:
Hi Norma, this fits inside the disposal opening from the top inside the opening. It is held in by a ridge at the bottom of the baffle and fits inside the corresponding ridge in the disposal opening. Just grab it and pull it out. clean around the bottom of the collar or the opening and push the baffle down evenly in the opening all the way down and it will fill the hole and stay in.

Answer:
The whole disposal must be removed to replace the collar baffle, unless you purchased the drop in type, which just slips into the sink and is removable for periodic cleaning.

The unit snaps in the ring above the original component. You shouldn't have to remove the disposal.

Answer:
Use a very sharp knife (like the disposable units used for wallpaper hangers) and cut out the old collar. It should cut away easily and neatly.

Answer:
It depends on the type of disposal you have. In my case, the baffle is removed from the sink side (I can pull it in and re-install it from above). There are other disposals that have the baffle integrated into the seal between the sink and disposal.

Answer:
I personally have not done this as the old baffle acts as a gasket with the older units. You might try cutting away as much as ou can of the old piece and let the new one ride a bit higher in the drain.

Hello, one more thing to mention that we missed in our previous response. Within the Mounting Gasket Kit (like provided below), you will need the Deluxe gasket which is indicated on the baffle itself. You will not need the Standard gasket that comes in the kit.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not if you like your small kitchen items This baffle is much more flexible than the original, too flexible. I've lost an egg cup, two corn holders, and numerous spoons since buying this. Stuff just falls through into the well and I'm not interested in sifting through my scraps every time I want to run the disposal. The original was super stiff and people complained about pushing food down, but I'll take that over fishing out destroyed broken items when I hear the tell-tale noise that means nope, that wasn't food. The original kept getting stinky build-up on it that was getting harder and harder to clean. I don't mind buying a replacement every once in a while, but this certainly is not up to the task. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sink Baffle works perfectly Originally when I looked for the product at the store I thought it would be the collar that goes on top of the disposer (which requires to dismount the disposer from the sink), so when I got home I dismounted the disposer and realized it does not fits it (smaller), so I started looking for returning it back to the store. So, looking at it I realized it actually fits on the sink hole to the disposer and Voila!! It fits perfectly; it works even better reducing the noise of the disposer. So, I'm even happier with it, I don't need to remove any more the disposer, when it gets dirty it can be removed for cleaning it and makes the work. (I left the old baffle collar in place because it seals the gap between the sink and the disposer) There are other branded options, this one is the "generic" promoted at the store and it costs significantly less than the branded option. Definitely I recommend this product!! February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sink Collar I like the fact that this collar is removable for cleaning and sanitizing. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by fit perfectly Baffle was direct replacement and fit well. Saw other reviews about fit issues but this one worked fine for me and I've had no trouble pushing the food through the center. Picture included. January 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great! Great replacement! It muffles the sound and reduces splashing water. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fixed a problem The item was easy to assemble and is quiet. What else can one say about a simple sink bafflle Fits the insinkerator well but is pricey for a simple molded baffle. December 8, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't Fit Store assistant assured me it would fit my off-brand disposer. I had the old part with me too. When I tried to install it, no go. This one is 3 1/4". Mine is 3 1/8. Only one eighth difference, but when trying to get it into the sink flange it's way too big. I should have opened the package and compared before purchasing. Two stars only because it seems to be a decent enough baffle. August 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best sink baffle This is the only thing I will use in my sink. Its quiet and keeps gunk from building up in the unit. Its easy to clean and last a long time. I used my old one for the past 5 years before I replaced it with this new one. September 29, 2015
