Answer:
Please check that little center pipe (plastic) about 4 inches long on top of the unit. It is possible that the plastic is bad and water can run down that center groove on the side of the unit and it will appear as if the tank is leaking.

If it were a dispenser leak, it would probably be dripping from the spout into the sink. We also had this problem - which was a leaking seal inside the faucet. Insinkerator replaced the faucet, and I even think they sent someone out to install it.

Despite having both dispenser and tank problems, we have used the Insinkerator instant hot system for over 15 years and are very satisfied with the product and customer service. We recently purchased a new home and installed an Insinkerator hot and cold water plus filter system. It went in even before I hooked up the washer and dryer. Read Less

It is probably the tank. We had a problem like this a few years ago with a system that had been in use for some time. There was a problem with the seams. We called Insinkerator and they gave us a big discount on a new tank.

Answer:
Yes. If you have a hot water only valve, you may have only one connection anyway. If you have a faucet with both hot and cold water valves, one line can be either plugged or not connected to service only the hot water feature.

You can either get instant “hot and cool” water or “hot” water only depending on the ISE faucet assembly you will install together with the HWT-F1000S. We have faucet assemblies that are sold separately from the HWT-F1000S, they are the Indulge Series.
You may visit this link to view the hot water dispenser models: http://www.insinkerator.com/en-us/Household-Products/Water-Products/Pages/Default.aspx
The HWT-F1000S comes bundled with a filtration system (separate component) that filters both hot and cool water. It also comes with all the necessary parts except for the faucet assembly which has to be purchased separately.

Robb, it is a hot water only system with a water filter. It sounds like what you need. But make sure what you get has the faucet if it's not a replacement. You also need power under the sink.

This machine comes in both options for hot/cold or only hot. We have the machine that is only hot water. As a tip, we searched on-line quite a bit and Home Depot had the best price. Also, if you order the machine, it is expensive enough to get FREE shipping, so be sure to order an extra filter or two at the same time. Otherwise, you will have to pay for shipping when you order them separately. Love it!!

The filter twists out and can be pulled free of the mounting bracket and a new filter is inserted and twisted in to lock it. There is no need to shut off the water.
Be sure an flush the new filter briefly, after installation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Water heater I purchased this unit to replace a previous under sink hot water heater that expired after 10 years. The new unit was easily installed using the same fittings I had already installed prior. I did not use the supplied faucet as I already had a hot / cold water dispenser installed. The new unit was very similar to the old unit except that some parts were plastic rather than metal but it doesn't seem to be critical. I also don't use the filter as I have a 2 stage under the counter filter system. May 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hot Water Heater This is our fourth heater in 25 years. They last around 7 years and then start to go. However, they are an invaluable asset to any kitchen. INSTANT hot water for coffee, tea, noodles, etc. Why wife thought it was a joke when I first got her one years ago and now she won't live without one. May 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by When will this item be back in stock? First I had to replace my faucet, then the tank leaked because I did not unplug the unit (poor deisign), when the water would not stop rushing out of the faucet and I unhooked it from the water supply. Now I'm looking to replace my tank (only 5 year old). I'm disappointed I have to replace. When will this item be instock? I do think Insinkerator should replace the unit for free due to faulty design. Unit was used at most twice per week. May 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by purchase easy and worked well actually not installed yet. Waiting for contractor. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product. The instructions were clear and precise. Unit was easily installed and performs quite well. It is much quieter than the older model I had and dispenses both cold and hot water. June 7, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great product when new I have mixed feelings of this product. When it is relatively new it works great however as it ages the performance drops quickly. I've had three units in the last ten years; the first one stopped heating while under warranty and was replaced free of charge (excellent service). The heating element in the second one didn't work very well after a few years and also started leaking. My wife loves this hot water dispenser so now we have a third one. May 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We have benefitted from having an ISE Hot Water System, since 1979! Great! Our first system (Hot Water only, no Filter) was our choice for our new house. 20 years later, we become owners of a new Condo, which we customized during construction. This time we opted for a Hot & Cold, filtered system. The heating tank finally needed replacing, after 18 years. This new tank was easy to replace the worn-out one. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product I am very pleased with this product. It works well, and is reliable, always delivering near-boiling water. No complaints. May 27, 2016
