Customer Questions & Answers

Why is our instant hot water leaking at the bottom of the faucet when we use it now? Tightening screw on the side did not help.

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Julie, I had this problem when I first installed mine - I found that I didn't push the faucet part far enough into the base before tightening the screw. Try loosening the screw and pulling the facuet part out and look at the part that inserts into the base - there should be a rubber washer there and it shouldn't be torn damaged. If it looks OK, push it into the base as far as it will go and tighten the screw. Hope that works! If the rubber washer is damaged, try calling InSinkErator Customer Service to see if they have a solution for you. Best, Jason

Hi Charles, As my original unit got older, the thermostat started to act up and steam/hot water would occasionally spurt out. Is this what's happening to yours? Best, Jason

Customer Reviews

Instant Hot Water Dispenser System is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 246.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to install, not totally pleased with performance My family has enjoyed the H770 series, having replaced the tank once. When the 2nd tank started leaking, we decided to try the Hot1 series. Installation was quite easy and the press-down lever is easier to use than the twist-style from the H770. That said, the approximate 10F temperature difference seems to deliver sub-standard performance. Also, if trying to improve performance (i.e. increase temperature), the audible noise and/or spitting associated with fine-tuning to the upper limit is somewhat disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very handy source of boiling water Meets my needs for a quick cup of tea, or source of really hot water. It's noisy as it cycles on and off and if the setting is too hot it will spit hot steam and water. A little hard to regulate. I wish it had an on off switch so I could turn it off when I go on vacation - I now have to crawl under the sink to unplug it so it won't spit here the whole time I'm away. Basically, good service for a low price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INSINKERATOR HOT 1 I love the insinkerator hiot 1 I recently moved to n.carolina and wanted one for the new house, but was disappointed when I learned they are no longer in production.I looked high and low trying to find one, finally finding one on ebay.I`m not crazy about the current models, too big and too fancy.I hope you will start producing the hot 1 again !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Connections now easier than before Finally enhanced connections make it much easier to install. Still a little tardy on the lengths of connection tubes and power pigtail. With disposers, soap dishes, pull-out faucets, remote drain, you will need all the flexibility you can get! I am still hoping the tank holds out longer than my prior 3 units.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was the HOT 100 not the Hot 1 that we purchased The unit was easy to install and has performed as described. This was a replacement for a Hot 1 which broke apart and caused moisture leakage. I would not recommend the Hot 1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Self Contained Small Water Heater I owned this model 17 years ago but when it died I could not find the same model to replace it. The next model was an instant on model of the Insinuator line and it lasted 8 years, excellent quality. This model is like a small water heater that keeps hot water ready for use. The temperature is constant and being self contained will not leak. The price is great and the quality is outstanding. I gave it a lower score on quality only because of the plastic lever which will break. I replaced it twice it 7 be advised to buy an extra now. Other than that small problem it is a great unit.
