Model hc990c-SMS

Where is reset button
Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Maezng, thank you very much for your question. As mentioned by a previous answer there is not a reset button on our hot water products. We do suggest checking to see if a circuit has tripped and is not working by unplugging the dispenser tank and plugging in another small appliance to check the outlet. If you have additional questions, please contact our customer service department at 1-800-558-5700. Thank you again for your question.

What size hole needs to be drilled in counter? How much below counter clearance between sink and wall.ace is needed?

InSinkErator Invite Chrome Instant Hot Water Dispenser System, Model # H990C-SS, Internet # 100408162
Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Ron - Thank you for your question. The required counter top hole should be 1-1/4" (minimum) to 1-1/2" (maximum) and should be located about 1-1/4" from the center of the counter top hole to the backsplash as indicated in the picture attached. The distance under the sink between the wall and sink should be approximately 2.5” minimum to allow some room to turn the wing nut on the mounting bracket. Hope this information is helpful to you. If you require additional installation assistance, feel free to call our customer care line at 1-800-557-5700 and they may assist you.

Hi Pamela, thank you very much for your question. Yes, you can add a filter to this product. The filter you will need to purchase is the F201 Filtration System. Customer Reviews

Invite Biscuit Instant Hot Water Dispenser System is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hot water dispenser failure I had this dispenser for a little over 3 years. The thermostat broke after 6 months of use. After the in-home replacement, it worked fine until the stainless steel tank cracked just past the 3 year warranty. I am disappointed in the quality of this product. Previously I had a better experience with Insinkerator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Best Kitchen Helper! The in sink erator Instant Hot Water Dispenser is the most useful tool in my kitchen. I can use it for so many jobs and it is always ready to provide me with hot water at the turn of the handle. Among its uses are preparing hot drinks and foods such as coffee, hot chocolate, instant cereals, noodles and pasta. It's very practical in cleaning jobs where I need very hot water, and quickly! The tank has an excellent supply and water is reheated constantly. I don't know what I'd do without this durable and very practical appliance! Marge G

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works for 4 years then dies I bought a similar Insinkerator unit about four years ago. It worked great, then the tank started leaking when it was about 4 years old. Similar reviews on other sites consistently report a 3 to 5 year life for the current production Insinkerator products. I'm purchasing a Kohler to replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice improvement over older models We bought this to replace a very old instahot that had stopped working after many years. The handle on this model is infinitely easier to use, it's obviously been ergonomically designed. Much better looking than earlier versions as well. We're very happy with this purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Read the description CAREFULLY ! I needed to replace a hot water dispenser when the flimsy plastic "lever" snapped off after a year. I wanted one that didn't have cheap parts, and was sturdy enough to withstand average use by 2 adults and one teen daughter. I chose the product with "beefier" parts and, in order to match my primary faucet, looked for a "chrome" finish. Even though I thought the price was a little high (slightly under $300), getting something sturdy made it acceptable. The product arrived as promised, and was simple to install. Some of the "included" parts were NOT included, but after decades of owning a home I was lucky enough to have copper fittings on hand. Apparently "chrome finish" has nothing to do with the product's material. It turned out to be chromed plastic - not sure how long it'll take for a pot or pan will chip it... but that's up to fate. The salesman suggested that I keep the water tank unit as a spare, and simply replace the faucet, but the modular hoses are NOT universal. I had to throw away an entire system because of a broken plastic lever worth less than $1. The quality of this product is certain to guarantee that it will last at LEAST several hours after the warranty expires. I would recommend this product IF it was made from better materials, and offered at a lower price. The price I paid got me a water tank, rheostat, heater element, and chrome-coated plastic faucet.... to sit next to thousands of dollars worth of granite and stainless steel chromed hardware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have had this item in my home since 1998. I would not be without it--ever. We are getting ready to move to another home and I am buying it now so it will be there when we arrive to set up a new home. Anyone who cooks or uses instant products should have this hot water dispenser. It is an awesome product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This very useful product has lasted a longtime, but recently suffered a small, repairable breakdown. This HW dispenser replaced an earlier model (with plastic tank) which lasted 3 1/4 years when the tank started leaking. The H990C model (with steel tank), purchased 3/18/06, is still giving hot water, but the handle came off in my wife's hand today. I was able to fix it, and tried to buy a couple of small parts--an Incin Retainer and a Spring Retainer--online to replace these two original parts to ward off the handle coming off again, but they are no longer available. Hopefully, the handle will stay on until the tank goes out and we need to replace this "irreplaceable" kitchen appliance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for many years My first exp. with an instant hot water was in a rental. Loved it, but there was a crack, and well...ants in the system. When we bought our new sink, we got it with the holes pre-cut for one. We have had it for well over 5 years, perhaps going on 10. We just now began to leak, and since we repiped the house, time for a new one! Looking for the same ADA design as it is easier to use. Now that I have finally located it, time to order! Glad I looked online, as they only carry 2 models in store. Hope this one lasts as long!
