Answer:
It's about a one inch diameter. I think that's the standard size next to the main spigot hole - right or left. One is for soap dispenser the other for the instant hot.

Hi Abino,
This is Jim with InSinkErator. You would need a hole 1-/14in - 1-1/2in in diameter and the counters thickness can not exceed 3in. I hope I have been able to answer your question today. Do you need to change the filter. Especially crucial if your water is hard. They only last six months and the plumbing is awful originally expensive.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 189 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Product for the money Bought this to replace one of a different brand. The set up was very easy as the connection from the old one was still good but still has a few changes. I got lucky when I turned on the water no leaks. October 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I've Bought Lots of the InSinkErator Hot Water Dispensers I have 5 of these in my home. 3 have been replaced multiple times, as they start to leak after 2-3 years of regular use, which is the reason I gave the product only 4 stars instead of 5. I use these hot water dispensers constantly throughout the day, especially the ones in my kitchen and in my home office. The other 2 weren't used much, so I didn't replace them when they started to leak. Still, I think InSinkErator's hot water dispensers are among the best hot water dispensers on the market, and I would recommend it. Once you have a plumber install a hot water dispenser, it's easy to replace. September 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product This replaced an earlier identical model we had for 17 years. A friend installed it for me as I am disabled. He found it relatively easy. We enjoy this new one and have had over 30 years positive experience with ISE products. Keep up the good work. D. F. Kern Oldsmar, FL October 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Instant Hot Really like the compact size of the tank and the attractive chrome faucet. This is a replacement for another brand that lasted less than 5 years. I hope this will be an improvement. October 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Offers excellent convenience. Very good for a large household for preparing food or just warming coffee cups. October 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My experience with InSinkErator has been great. This is replacing the 21 year old InSinkErator that was installed when my house was built. It was used frequently and finally started to leak around the bottom. The new one works just as well as the old one, and I like that I can adjust the temperature of the water if I want. I hope this one serves me as long and faithfully as the old one did! I did have a plumber install it, but that was mostly because he was already here to replace the kitchen faucet. In looking at the unit and the install process I am fairly certain I could have done it myself with little difficulty. September 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Price was in expected range, performance is very good. I removed an older Kitchen-Aid unit that failed after several years of service. I bought the InSinkErator without looking it over and was surprised at how "cheap" the under sink heater appears. However, it was easy to install and the performance, after 6-weeks has been excellent while the above sink dispenser faucet has a quality appearance. . September 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by installation issue Better explanation needed for hookup to existing water line, and need to include all parts that are needed to hookup to water line..i.e. different adapters and connectors that may need to be purchased or should be included in kit. I had to go to the hardware store to purchase items that should have been included in product September 23, 2016
