Nope. Plug it into the same receptacle as your dishwasher with a plugin splitter or power strip.

No, I have it on the same circuit as my garbage disposal. I wouldn't put it on the same circuit as a coffee pot or anything that draws significant current. Though even then, I doubt it would be a problem. Just check the specs for wattage drawn.

Normally, they do not. The position at the back of the sink makes it difficult for a small child to reach and all of the levers that turn on the flow of water are spring loaded to close when your hand is removed (unlike the valves on the sink faucets). If a child were to accidentally press the hot water valve and receive a scald, the flow would stop as soon as s/he let go of the valve - the likely result would be a first degree (red skin) or second degree (blisters) burn and a more severe burn would be unlikely unless the valve were somehow held in the "ON" position. Not absolutely impossible, but highly unlikely. Read Less

Answer:
Yes, the tap can be mounted in any standard sink or counter top hole. A soap dispenser or sprayer hold works nicely (we've gone to a faucet where the spout pulls out and also functions as a sprayer, makeing the hole available.

We did! We had an extra hole in our drop in sink, and instead of adding a sprayer, we opted to add this. Our sink has the faucet, handle, hot water dispenser, and soap dispenser. Love it.

For an H-View-SS model, the required sink hole diameter is 1 ½” and the maximum thickness of sink that it can accommodate would be 3”. The minimum required backsplash from sink hole center is 2 5/8”. NOT the actual unit onto the counter. I know how to tighten that. The spigot spins in the unit. I imagine there is a tightening screw that keeps it straight. Where is it? I can't find it.

get some plumbers putty from home depot. make about a half inch snake about 3 inches long (like kids do with playdoo) put the snake around the faucet threads right where the faucet will meet the sink. tighten it down with the nut below the sink. wipe away any putty that squeezes out.

Hey Paula,
If the spout of your dispenser became loose, it could already be an internal issue with your dispenser. Kindly respond through insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com with your complete contact information and serial number of your dispenser so that we can discuss with you the warranty coverage of your unit.
Thank you.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Missed the instant hot water Our 3 year old Hot 100 valve stuck open and was loaded with mineral deposits. Found this as a replacement. This is a two unit design with separate vent line. Seems to work much better than the old cheaper one ever did. And looks great with stainless. September 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hot water system This is my second hot water dispenser. The first one lasted 7 years! It is one of the nicer designs available at Home Depot. Super easy to install. The only con I have is with price as I think it went up about $100 for the same unit since I first bought it. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hot water tap No house should be without one! First thing we installed in our new house so we could fresh press our coffee. So many uses - love it. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this product We've used these for many years. Instant hot water is great. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceeded my expectations This hot water dispenser replaced a previous dispenser by the same manufacturer, InSinkErator. The product performs better than expected. Installation was easy because all the plumbing was already in place. I just had to connect the new unit to the existing lines. If you're like me, and want a cup of tea or coffee without waiting for a pot of water to boil, you'll love this product. January 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD VALUE NOT THE MOST PRETTY the one and only insta hot on the floor for sale a my local store . It is functional, replaced a very bulky but decorative Kitchenaid brand . this is a slim design which gives countertop appearance of looking cheap. the fixture Functions well and heats fast . Very easy install for DIY. September 1, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good, directions were terrible The unit itself seems well built and works well, so hardware wise I'd give it a solid 4 (I wouldn't rank anything a 5 unless I had it and it worked reliably for years). However the directions were terrible, hence the loss of another point. For one it had pictures and instructions for various models, however none of those were this model. Thankfully the tank was the same and the faucet connections were similar enough such that I could figure it out. But where things got confusing was with the faucet mounting as you didn't know exactly what order things should go int. Plus there was a metal washer which was too narrow to fit on the facet. You could remove the plastic threaded sleeve to put it on, but that didn't make much sense so I didn't use it at all. Again the instructions were terrible. Here they have it in multiple languages and for multiple models, yet it doesn't even cover the model you buy, where is the logic in this??? Far as parts you'll need which the kit doesn't include... You'll need to replace your cold water valve with a new valve which has an additional 1/4" out to supply the hot water dispenser, you'll need some 1/4" copper tubing (at least a few feet worth), the compression nut to screw the copper tube to the valve, you can optionally put in a filter, which I did. And then finally you'll need a quick connector to connect the other end of the copper line to the copper input on the faucet. It's somewhat understandable that the kit doesn't include these parts as setups can vary. Since I was replacing a previous hot water setup which went bad I only needed a new quick connector to replace the previous one Overall it's nice looking and works well so far, directions were a let down... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Functional product This hot water faucet and tank are a great addition to our kitchen. The copper line was short but the addition of a short flex piping resolved the problem. We bought it to replace a Kenmore product which no longer exists. We hope it lasts just as long. It works fine...no dripping from faucet and water always hot, lever easy to pull and seems durable. I even spray painted it to match my bronze kitchen sink faucet. This faucet model only comes in two finishes. What I like the most about this brand, is it's just the right height. Other brands are too high and to not have the right proportion to a new style kitchen faucet. October 20, 2013
