Answer:
As you did not give any specifics, my answer is only as general - typically there is only one size for American in sink waste disposal units and therefore it should work with sink (one standard size in the US) and the mount should fit for your 'Insinkerator'.
It might not work on sinks from e.g. European kitchen manufacturers, as there are smaller diameter sink outlets existing in the trade.

The disposal came out from the twist lock flange. Now how does the flange and sink basket get removed? The flange just goes round and round but does not unscrew. I can't pry it off. Do I need a crowbar or blowtorch? :)

Having the motor supported by a stand underneath or a second person holding the motor (watch out not to let it drop down - you could get hurt the motor usually is heavy) loosen the main holding screw on the mount of the insink unit underneath the sink by knocking in counter clock direction slightly with a small hammer against the rounded flange corners ! When that main flange screw is loosened the motor is off the mount, lay it on the cabinet bottom of the sink or have somene hold it during reinstallation. Then loosen the three bolts from underneath the sink that press the lock mount against the sink (move bolts counter clock direction). The mount comes apart from the sink and can be removed when bolts are lossened and afterwards remove all sealing debris and rubber seal residue fro mboth side of the sink hole.
Follow installation instructions of the new lock mount unit.

Should be a snap ring that you take off and then it should come away from the sink. You have to look closely if there is a lot of rust or gunk. Check the online instructions if you don't have the instructions in front of you.

Yes I think it will, as the mounting flange is quite long reaching deep enough from the top of the sink.

Answer:
Hi Shelia,
I'm Travis from The Home Depot.
Yes, this mount will work on cast iron kitchen sinks. The hole size and thickness is standard.
This particular mount is for use with any Insinkerator Brand disposal. If your disposal is not Insinkerator, use the mount that was supplied with the new disposal.
When I receintly installed a new Insinkerator, it fit the mount from the 15 year old one.

Kohler Wheatland ?

This question is from Quick Lock Mount for InSinkErator Garbage Disposals
Asked by
San Diego, Calif.

August 3, 2016
I'm buying a new Kohler Wheatland cast iron sink. I would like to re-use my Sears Kenmore 3/4 HP disposal, which is currently using an older Insinkerator quick lock mount as this disposal works great. I'd like this quick lock mount as it's nice and shiny and it would match the other drain on my new sink.

I measured the drain opening on the new sink, and it is 3 3/4 inches. This Insinkerator says it fits a 3 1/2 inch opening. My question is will this quick lock mount work with my new sink without leaking even though it's 3 3/4 ? Thank you in advance

Found out my question that I originally asked, and answered by a rep for Insinkerator was wrong. she stated that it would ONLY fit 3 1/2 openings. Well, that answer is wrong. It will fit 3 1/2 to 4 inch openings.
